I seriously think we should win by 14+, if we lose goodbye...

Well this is Mich St. Same Mich St team that beats ND then loses to Purdue and IU.

At least the QBs a runner and not a thrower. The defense should be built around taking away a running QB with the Rover position.

Not to say ND wont lay an egg and make this come down to the wire.

Agree with most of what you said, but I'm more concerned about the matchup at North Carolina than I am about MSU. The Tarheels may be 1-2, but they played Cal and Louisville close. From what I watched of the Spartans first two games, this will be a battle between two inexperienced mobile QBs. I'll take Wimbush over Lewerke, who is even less of a down-field threat, in that matchup. They have some talent on the DL, but they're not Georgia. Never mind the Bulloughs, they've all graduated.

But he's a RS junior backing up the starting sophomore. He's not the favorite at Thanksgiving telling glory day stories.

MSU depth chart:

1 SR
4 JR (2 RS)
6 SO (3 RS)

Don't know how many returning starters but not having Malik and Bullough help significantly.

Michigan State beat BGSU and WMU.

BGSU is 0-3 losing to MSU/South Dakota St/Northwestern - wow. 212 total offense vs MSU. 414/avg. other 2.
WMU is 1-2 losing to USC(close)/MSU and beating Idaho. 195 total offense vs MSU. 378/avg. other 2.

Anyone know of some good tailgate spots for MSU?

Also, they say Gates open at 1 for night games, lines forming at noon. This was far from the truth at the big house a few years back as we got there and the golf course lot was full. Does anyone have any experience tailgating at MSU?

MSU has only played Bowling Green and WMU (with a bye last week)?

I hope they're ready for an actual game.

we usually tailgate on the top floor/roof of one of the parking structures on campus. you have a good view of the main tailgates/stadium/campus trees and buildings and then all the activity on main street. think its about 10 bucks or so to park there. You obviously can't mingle as much with other tailgates but its a nice spot to hang out and watch the atmosphere build

It's a night game at MSU. And BK is our coach. Anyone with supreme confidence in this one is being foolish.

Doesn't ND typically show out for primetime away games under BK or am I totally rewriting history here?

If we could get @ Ok, @ FSU, @ Clemson levels of play (even tho two losses) all the time I think the fans view of BK and NDFB would be very different.

I think we do well in primetime away games, but I'm sure someone will disagree.

Oklahoma, USC, and MSU 2012 jump to mind right away. But after that it is a bunch of final possession losses (Clemson, FSU, MSU 2011). Am I missing any outside of 2012?

USC and MSU were both mediocre in 2012. The MSU game was huge at the time but quickly faded as the MSU losses piled up.

Although a loss, our team definitely showed up for that FSU game in 2014, and the Clemson game in 2015.

So overall, I'd say they definitely show up for prime timers.

The FSU should have been a win. That's still sad.

If ND came out to play from the very beginning of the game that also could have gone the other way. Clemson came out on fire. Felt like the crowd was in my family room.

It looks like their game clock in the stadium is on both sides of their scoreboard. Which looks like 2-3 seconds remaining.

Yeah, I remember this being debated ad nauseam after the game, but was ultimately definitively proven that there was no delay of game.

2014 Music City Bowl. IMHO, a turning point for recruiting. Hope it qualifies. Cheers!

Even if there was no delay of game, I'm pretty sure there was a blatant holding penalty on the play. One of MSU's players pulled down two of our guys, freeing up the guy that was open for the TD.

Right, the bigger issue is that there were two obvious penalties that could've been called besides delay of game, including the worst OPI I've ever seen. We had the play perfectly covered by a to-be NFL star and he gets completely taken out.

The fact that Brian Kelly lost to Florida State on that insane OPI call after previously losing to MSU on "Little Giants" where the refs were just like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ is proof that he is cursed.
