He goes from throwing players under the bus to no throwing his coaches under. Is this what happens when your boss forces you to relinquish control of the offense?

*Italics* maybe

I don't see this as throwing coaches under the bus whatsoever. I see nothing wrong with this statement of we gotta get him on the field more often.

CJ Sanders essentially done as WR at ND

Well Finke was playing fearless and getting open. Who does he remind me of from 2012 or 13 that shouldn't have started but kept getting open and played over more talented guys?

Actually it's Boston College that sucks. Boston is awesome, in part because we don't have tons of enormous cheap parking lots everywhere. Save your money. Just park somewhere else and take the T or an Uber to the game. Especially if you can't tailgate anyway.

True enough. I live in New Hampshire an hour from Boston. I like to keep my bitchin' brief.

That may be true, but how does a guy go from getting solid playing time his FR and SO years to zero? Especially when no receivers on the roster are world beaters.

The way I read it is "I am with the fans, we should have played him. Direct your frustration at Coach Long"
The thing is Dexter was under utilised most of last season as well when Kelly was calling the plays.
Head coach needs to show better core traits.

And BK praised his effort and publicly stated they, the coaches, needed to get him on the field.

I guess the staff somehow made a mistake and forgot about him again.

Game starts super slow with zone read after zone read after zone read for little to no gain and no adjustments whatsoever. Kelly then goes purple face on Long and takes his toys away and the Irish put up 40 in the second half under Kelly, 50-17. Jack and BK get into it publicly and next week ND is in the headlines again.

This is where i'm at. Chip gets about 1 quarter to make it happen. After that BK has him caring his headphone wire.

Yea Finke just dominated. Look I am not picking on this kid. I have no doubt that he really hustles and practices and plays hard; but you want to know why we don't beat good teams? We keep playing guys like Finke and Schimidt. Now if he is actually better then the 4* recruits we keep getting, then maybe these recruits are only getting the "stars" because they are going to ND and our recruiting classes are not actually as good as advertised.

"I'll show Jackie boy how it's done." said Brian, as he pulled out a can of Copemhagen Straight and shoved in damn near the whole tin. He then flipped his hat backwards and untucked his shirt.
He was then caught mimicking a heavy weapons gunner yelling "Get Some!" over and over while orchestrating an aerial bombardment not dissimilar to the firebombing of Dresden. When asked about his thoughts on his way to the locker room after the clock hit 0:00, he softly whispered "Suck it, Flutie." and passed out.

Fixed your post.

To be fair, in terms of talent relative to their respective positions, Finke >>>>> Schmidt -- and it's not really close

Actually I agree and I did not mean to show so much disrespect toward Finke. However, the fact is that Finke is a walk on with limited talent on a team that seems to recruit talent at the wide receiver position, and I am pretty sure Finke would never see the field on any of the top 10-15 teams. So either the quality of our recruits is way overrated or neither the coaching staff or the rating services has any clue how to evaluate talent.

I'm expecting a huge win and they won't score more than 10 points. I'm guessing something like 42-7. I think the passing game takes a turn and the WR's have a big game

I really see Finke as the ND version of Hunter Renfrow. Really good, undersized high school receiver that the rating services overlooked because their skill set isn't impressive in a camp environment or 7 on 7 situation. I actually think it is a testament to the ND staff for evaluating his talent correctly and gambling that they could get him to campus as a walk-on to save a scholly. Once he got here he has made the most of his opportunity.

Yes he did. But if you really want ND to win games consistently against top 15 level opponents, guys like Finke should never be seeing the field in prime time. Now if you disagree, all I can say is just look at ND's record over the past 20 years or so.

I agree. I honestly think we handle business this weekend and put some great numbers and steamroll them. I want to see Notre Dame come out and make a statement that the Georgia loss was just a blip and that the future is still very bright for this team. We didn't play a great game against Georgia and we lost by one point. This game hopefully gets us back on track.

Confidence

Confidence, body strength, and hands.

Not saying you're disrespecting him, but talent doesn't mean squat if you can't get open. Finke kept playing in the second half because he was getting open. He was running crisp routes with hard cuts to get separation even if he isn't the fastest guy. I'll take 7 or 8 catches for 8-12 yards that moves the ball down the field.

There's always room for a guy that get you a first down on 3rd and long.
