Just bought 4 tickets. Section 104. SHOULD BE a fun game with minimal stress. SHOULD BE.

Just got mine in the mail. Pretty sweet they are from a season ticket holder. Got the fancy hard back ticket and necklace to go with it.

For a moment i thought these were special ticket/passes then i realized i saw a season ticket picture and that brought my excitement back down.

I hope we go for the throat in this game. I'm sure it could be a battle but hopefully our guys come out well-rested and ready to hang fitty on em.

I want their coach to be absolutely embarrassed.

I'm irritated by the start time. This will likely be the only game I attend this year, and an hour of tailgating lost is a big blow for me.

Does anyone know why they've bumped all of the afternoon kickoffs back an hour this season? (except for Ball State, which is still 3:30). What's the deal?

Gotta run the score up on these guys. Isnt this the coach that always bad mouths ND every time it comes up?

Is it a daylight savings time thing? Keep the same time for normal parts of the US?

Also - if we don't run this score up I will be greatly disappointed. Need to beat them by more than other SEC teams beat them for transitive purposes. SEC dipshits love transitive football arguments.

Haven't been to a game since the 2012 Michigan game, and started tailgating at like 9am so by the time the game actually kicked off I was decently schmammered...so, the moral of the story is it's about time to get to another game...one that I'll remember lol. If I read correctly, there will still be tickets available for cheap on campus on gameday? How does one acquire these tickets?

we always walk around with a small sign that says "from TN, Need X tickets." X being the number of tickets we need.

Honestly, go to the Linebacker at lunch time on Friday and put you a sign on the table. You can get all the tickets you want.

2 games Home & Home

Vanderbilt 0-2

1995 H ND 41 Vandy 0
1996 A ND 14 Vandy 7

The '96 game saw Holtz, after throat surgery, up in the box and Bob Davie running the team on the field. Despite the close score the players responded quite well to Davie and it gave rise on ND boards to the DFC cry, "Davie For Coach!". Be careful for what you wish.

All-Time Vandy

600 Wins 613 Losses 50 Ties 0.495 Winning %

Vandy is the 80th ranked team out of 109 teams by All-Time Winning %

That was actually the '95 game, at ND, when they won 41-0 when Davie was head guy on sideline. I think he may have been carried off the field...or at least hoisted on shoulders after the game?

Still single game tickets available for as low as 45 if you don't mind sitting upper end zone. There are other better, more expensive tickets too.

Or you can always try scalping if you have negotiating skills.

Sagarin's PREDICTOR Model has ND at home, - 10.78, say 11 points.

I can imagine Vandy attacking the line of scrimmage forcing Wimbush to pass

Yes absolutely stack the box. And then on obvious passing downs drop into zone coverage and Wimbush will be befuddled.

2 things. For everyone who keeps saying that the next team we play will stack the box and beat ND that way, easier said than done. ND faces probably a top 10 defense in Michigan and they were stacking the box. Pretty much all of last year they stacked the boxes against ND and they still were pretty successful. It’s not as simple as 8 guys in the box will just cause ND to do nothing.

Second thing, if ND doesn’t play better than this week they will be run off the field by Vandy. They aren’t an SEC powerhouse, but they have a 4th year starting QB who’s one of the better QB’s in the SEC (not elite but pretty darn good). They have SEC athletes on that 3-4 defense that are way way better than Ball State had and even a few comparable athletes to Michigan’s vaunted defense. Bottom line is ND needs a fire under their butts and not think of this game as a gimme cause clearly after the first touchdown, ND thought that they had the Ball State game in the bag. This is probably a bowl-bound SEC team and the way ND looked against Ball State this game looks a lot more uncomfortable.

ND’s offense looked like garbage the entire second half against Michigan and the whole game against Miami, Navy and Stanford last year. So yeah, with Wimbush as the QB I think the stacking the box thing is a good idea.

I just want to see one game where Dex gets the majority of the carries. I just want to see what it looks like.

FBS Defense Ranked 2017
#23 Michigan State - 38pts
#36 Boston College - 49pts
#60 USC - 49pts

Yea teams are going to continue to sell out against the run until Brandon Wimbush can prove that he can beat a team with his arm, but the problem is Wimbush has shown an ability to rack up some points against stacking-the-box teams but also fall flat on his face. It’s been too inconsistent from week to week or even half to half. I agree that it would be nice to know you’re going to get 30pts from your offense every week and that doesn’t seem to be the Wimbush way to go, but he did go to East Lansing and put up some numbers against a good defense on the road. He put up silly numbers against a traditionally good defensive team in BC and he put up some serious numbers against an NFL-laden defense that admittedly sucked but still has a lot of talent. And yes people can say that Notre Dame didn’t do anything in the second half against Michigan’s defense but the bottom line is they put 24 points on the board against a top 10 defense in the county and won the game. Stanford and Virginia Tech should be two tough tests to see how the offense has developed.

You will have to wait for at least 2 more games for that to happen.

I will bet you Dexter Williams will not have the majority of carries vs Vandy. Actually I bet you he has zero carries against ee

H res the next hung as I see it. Msu, BC and USC all played a balanced defence against ND last year, allowing ND a o run roughshod over them. It was Miami that set up a stack the box defence that exposed BW as a less than average passer.

Since then, defences have taken away the run, with great success. It won’t stop happening until BW proved he can beat you with his arm.

And as for the Michigan win that was on the defence

Every team from here on out will do that until either BW starts hitting passes, or BK starts inserting Book

BSU wasn't just stacking the box, they were switching up their D line calls to keep the O-line off balance. Vandy coaches will look at the tape of these game and use some of what they see on tape. Quinn needs to teach a crash course on "trusting your eyes and the guy next to you" this week.

If the Irishs come out and open a can of whoop ass on Vandy, we'll be okay going forward. If they replicate their BSU effort, then we should be concerned.

I said last week in the Ball State thread "I'll be the first one to eat crow if this game is close." Well, I'm here to eat crow, and Jeff Quinn should be joining me for this disgusting meal.

I can't remember the last time the OL played so damn poorly, and this is still a pretty veteran group. We expected a step back in production due to Q and Mike being gone, but none of us expected to be dominated up front by Ball freakin' State. It was alarming and pathetic, from the middle of the first quarter to the end of the game, they flat out dominated us up front.

I have serious concerns about the OL and Jeff Quinn right now. I'm typically not one to go into panic mode, but seeing a MAC team's physicality trump us...gross.
