Any word on Kyle?
He didn't even go to the locker room. I'm putting my money on just an ankle sprain.

The QB cam showed the DB behind Davis, that’s precisely what you want. S cleared out, put the ball on Davis once he makes his cut. QB 101 man. And even after that. The DB stayed behind Davis, throw the ball in front of Davis, at least, see if he can make a play. There was literally nobody in front of him.
Did Jordan Johnston get into the game? If the WRs are unavailable and ordinary its disappointing that he cant force his way into it.
Sorry man. Not seeing it. Just did another rewind Not sure where AD is, but if you're talking about opposite hash sideline (far right), in the first view that gives you up to at least the 10, the DB is not behind him. In the reverse view you can't tell until the WR comes out to the left in the EZ, and that was very late in the play.
So I guess he could have launched it to the opposite side of the field to the end zone corner before the WR makes his 1st move (looks like he made 2 moves trying to get open).
And again, Dungy said "great decision".
Dude, I have the screen frozen, Davis is running a 15 yard post on the right hash. He has crossed the face of the DB and the goal line. The pockets is perfectly clean. There is no S help and a LB sitting on the 12 yard line. The middle of the field is completely vacated as Mayer has taken two defenders with him. This is an easy ball to throw. This is just more of the same. Book not giving guys chances to make plays because a guy wasn’t WIDE OPEN.
What’s funny is, it looks like Book eventually sees it but now his shoulders are parallel to the LOS and he’s in no position to throw the ball. Classic Book. Bailing on the play technically with a perfectly good pocket as the middle of the field gets vacated and a WR has a chance for a play.
And, if you fast forward a second you’ll notice that Davis is now lined up with the left hash in the back of the end zone with the DB behind (The DB is so much behind him you can’t even see him as Davis covers him up visually, LOL. That is terrible end zone coverage and he was rewarded for it). him but Book has already abandoned the play mentally. No chance to make it. He didn’t see it early and then took himself out of position to make the play later. Very poor QB play there.
Next week will be big. Was this just shaking off rust or is Book going to overthrow everything?
There is only 1 WR running a 15 yard post on the right hash. And there is only one right hash. Not much else to say at this point.
It’s a ball that should’ve been thrown 100% of the time. Throw that early low and in front. Or late and behind. Maybe it gets completed 60-65% of the time but not throwing it gets completed 0% of the time.
This is the first time I think you've described the route. The DB looks to be running with him the whole time. The DB gave cushion early but looks to be right there when he cuts. And it's not a throw Book can bullet in there that deep. I don't know who the DB was, but that deep a good DB can jump that. Davis is sub 6 foot, so it's not like a 50/50 shot to Claypool.
If anything, I would have thrown to the back right corner of the endzone but that would have to be perfect to.
It’s a 25 yard post throw from where Book is standing. If Book can’t hit that throw them I’m not sure why we’re talking about this. He shouldn’t be playing.
Once he crosses the face of the DB and gets across the GL, he has leverage as the DB’s hips are now turned and he no longer can break on the route. The DB is running a behind him in a bad version of trail technique with no leverage inside. It’d be insanely difficult for him to break on the route when going literally through Davis.
Wow, we’ve done this going on 2+ years now. WR’s have to literally be running wide open or it’s unreasonable for Book to make a completion. While I watch highlights of QB’s throwing accurate but contested balls at asshole U all the time.
The DB is literally standing behind Davis in the back of the end zone with NOBODY in front of him and the response is, he can’t hit that throw, no big deal. Good grief.
Ha, oh no, 35 yards? What are we talking about here.
Asking our QB to throw a 35 yard TD pass to a WR who has successfully boxed out the DB. What a difficult situation Ian finds himself in.
With limited reps, workouts and meeting due to Covid it was good to see a win and no major injuries. I was worried about the injury part. But we have to cleans some things up with the offense and the db’s.
