Great stuff.

Just awesome stuff. I like how Joe Schmidt was rallying the defense to put a fork in Texas, to take the heart out of them. 2 years ago I remember seeing one of the upperclassmen, maybe Fox or Carlo, talking to Joe after that horrible Navy game that went down to the wire. They were propping up Joe, talking about how he ended the game with the way he played in the final series. He was the youngster then, now he's imparting that same leadership and maturity onto the next generation. Full circle, man, full circle.

Love the bro hug between MZ and McGlinchey.

"Sorry I knocked you down earlier bro." "It's all good."

Love seeing Sanford getting hyped after Adams scored his 1st TD (1:09). Who is that he high-fives?

What a great weekend.

Went to the Cubs - DBacks game on Friday. Got to Murphy's at 10 and it was already packed with UT fans. Sat for a few hours with some Longhorn fans and may have even made a business relationship, we'll see. Once in the stadium, I'd say that up to half the people in the stands had ND or Texas gear on, quite shocking at Wrigley especially with the Cubbies on a roll like they are. The Cubs even played Texas' fight song and The Alma Mater (I've Been Working On The Railroad... Worst. Alma Mater. Ever).

Met some great UT fans on Saturday too. To be honest - didn't meet a bad one the entire weekend. It would've been interesting to see how they would have acted if they were a Top 10 team and the Irish were in their current shape. Pretty much every fan we spoke with before the game knew what was going to happen so they came in humble this time.

Afterwards as we were winding down everyone of the Texas fans by us stated this was the best roadtrip they had ever gone on and that Irish fans are in a class by themselves. That's good to hear. Our tailgate group consisted of a group from Jersey, a group from Boston, a group from Chicago and our guys were from Japan, Hawaii, Cali, Chicago, Dayton and Connecticut. Where else do you get a gang like that? The Texas fans were really intrigued with that diversity of Irish fans. All in all, the Texas fans were a great bunch and I look forward to going to Austin next year. I hope Coach Strong gets it turned around in '17, It's hard to hate Texas.

Here's a nice letter from a UT fan that echos what I heard from all the fans I encountered. My HS coach always used to say... Nothing says more about you than how you act when you are winning. To that I say good job Irish fans.

A Texas thank you // The Observer

Yeah, most of the renditions I read from Texas fans said that the Irish fans were very hospitable and great. There were a few negative experiences, but I'd say 98% came away with a great impression other than the score.

Crazy hours man. I do social work and the kids I look after would much rather watch ridiculousness than
Football!

We started the dumpster fire last year with Michigan (or at least threw gas on it) when we completely destryed them. They never recovered all year long...nor did their coach. I'm sensing we did the same thing to Texas?

Charlie Strong ain't Brady Hoke. He's a good football coach but there was a lot in that program that needed to be purged before he could turn things around. I hope the boosters give him the chance.

This! I actually really like Charlie Strong...he's one of the good guys. Not sure he should have mentioned demoting his coaches in a presser but he had to make some moves. I think they will countinue to grow if he is given the time. Everything is bigger in Texas...except patience.

Too good of a guy. His principles are his undoing. College football is ruled by sleaze balls.

I'm a huge Charlie Strong fan too. ND obviously hired the wrong Charlie in '05.

I wish I lived in the other dimension where that went down.

I wonder how many people ran to the Longhorn Network last week to sign up for more?

Supposedly Strong was all set to become the DC under Weis but after taking the Florida job Urban convinced him to stay at UF.

Yes.... he had been named the Interim HC in '04 after Zook got canned and had the backing of the players. Urban needed him. Strong had been a DC under Lou at USC and Zook for 6 years... that wasn't enough for ND to give him the job at the time but hindsight being 20/20... I sure would have like to see how that unfolded in South Bend with a Strong Charlie instead of the weak one they chose.

I'm not sure Strong would have gotten enough time to clean up ND considering how bad we were after Davie and Willingham. The cupboard was mostly bare at that time. While Weis did a crappy job developing players (Mostly defensively and in the trenches) he did a decent job recruiting and left some talent behind that BK could start with. Not a lot, mind you, but Manti was there at least, and Big Lou. Those were pretty big pieces in 2012.

HAHAHA!!! Couldn't have happened to a bigger d-bag, he certainly earned this one. Depending on who they find this is really good news Texas' athletic programs.

The Shag is in celebration mode right now. I'm not sure if someone from there started it, but last week during the Rice game someone hired a plane to fly a banner at the game that said "Patterson Must Go." It's very possible that someone from the Shag financed it, as they created a similar banner by getting posters to contribute to a fund a few years ago. That fund created a banner that was flown at a game that said "Greg Davis is Not Our Standard," which got their OC Greg Davis fired shortly after.

Patterson has made some boneheaded decisions in his short time at Texas. He's been trying to squeeze every dollar out of Texas fans he can. He even did away with free meals for football staff and walk-ons. He also implementing some kind of loyalty system for fans, which didn't sit well with a lot of people. Lastly, he spearheaded a movement that ultimately forced the Shaggy Bevo website to change their name, forcing them to become "Shaggy Texas." He probably should have let that one go, especially if they were the ones that ended up creating the banner and prompting his firing.

Prevail and Ride did an MS Paint just before the season detailing Patterson's transgressions. Be warned, there's MS Paint dicks. Lots of MS Paint dicks.

For the second week in a row, Texas has lost thanks to a late special teams error.

The Longhorns fell to Oklahoma State on Saturday after freshman punter Michael Dickson couldn’t handle a snap and kicked the ball for a loss of six yards, allowing the Cowboys to take over in field goal range.

Dickson’s gaffe occurred in the final minute of the game and gave Oklahoma State the ball at the Texas 18, with the game tied at 27.
