What questions are they asking?

One reporter is trying to back BK into a corner about why the young guys weren't suspended, but Max was kicked out.

He's made it clear several times that he doesn't suspend for a first marijuana offense.

Just as I expected, which QB that plays is going to be more based on situation: time/clock, score, field position, etc.

If you are running a 2:00 drill and need a score to win the game with 80 to go, i have a hard time not seeing Kizer out there in that situation.

Ball on the 50 up 3 with 4:00 left, I am putting in Zaire and were killing that clock.

DK and MZ are two veteran players that "don't like it," but they want to win and do whatever is necessary.

Once the game starts, they'll be fine. Leading up to it, they won't be fine with it. It's just the nature of the situation.

It's best for ND that they both play.

How long this happens? We'll see.

Will it continue into Nevada? Depends on how they play.

If they both play dynamically and feed off of eachother, they will both continue to play.

Certainly sounds like he wants someone to separate, but they both truly are preparing very well.

Can't put it all on Torii Hunter as the veteran. He needs to play himself into confidence, doesn't have a big resume. Needs to play a lot more football than he ever has.

I didn't take it that way. I took his comments to mean that the best case scenario is they both play awesome and thus both earn playing time. For one to separate, that means the other one drops off.

Preparing for the frosh QB at Texas:

They know his style from high school. High-percentage guy. Fits their new system pretty good.

BK praising Swoopes as an athlete again. Can see how they are struggling to decide between the athlete and the youngster.

I just took it from his several "Depends how they play" and "we'll see" comments.

Maybe Texas wasn't ready to play last year. How did they improve enough to beat Oklahoma and Baylor?

Texas' running game emerged, got confidence there. Young players settled down.

Singles out Jefferson (My emphasis: He's a problem)

Offensive identity:

You've got to find it each year. Weren't sure what they'd get from Prosise/Kizer. It mends itself to what the team is or needs to be.

They've got enough players to figure some things out and be a balanced offense.

If we find out that we can't be balanced, we can be an offense that can grind it out.

Stresses that he wants to be balanced, though.

NDNation is salivating. Both at the prospect of watching ND play Manball™ again, and because BK is on record now stating we could do it if we wanted to. So if we lose a single game, it'll be "Didn't RTDB, Fire Kelly, QED"

Hoge will get PT behind McGovern.

Not sure if it's a rotation or not.

Baylor was garbage last year. Baylor has to play a WR at QB in that game and Texas still only won by 6.

Don't play like that formation isn't borderline erotic.

I'm as fast as sebastian

Apparently Kelly expects a fightingirish26 who knows where to line up to be more effective than a fast freshman who's constantly blowing coverage. Don't see how that's obviously the wrong decision.

BK knows USC and Bama are playing.

That's his only knowledge of the greatest opening weekend of all time. Unacceptable.

I really don't feel good about this game. Couple a young team on the road, in a primetime night game, in a massive stadium, with maybe the two worst cover safeties we have seen in a long time = bad feelings. I really hope I am wrong.

Don't worry, it's not like BVG will rush eight and leave them to cover half the field each.

Biggest concern heading into season opener?

Did we prepare properly? Did the players get enough rest? Are you prepared for every eventuality? Did you prepare your team for all of the things that can happen in the opener?

I can only assume the above means that BK has prepared Sebastian and Tranquill for ALL OF THE FOUR VERTS.
