Agree. I don't start flipping around from game to game until the ND one is done, even when they are playing crappy teams, or the game is a blowout. I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything if something crazy is happening in another game, but feel antsy as hell when I miss a play or two during an ND game, even against a scrub.

I'm with you. We wait all year for these 12 Saturdays. As long as ND has a shot to win I'm excited.

Also, these potential blowout games are great because it gives us a look at how our backups are developing. My personal wishlist of players I want to see get some minutes today:

1. Wimbush
2. Nick Coleman
3. Equanimeous
4. Mykelti
5. JUSTIN BRENT

Sorry BGIF... I don't buy that ND and/or NBC doesn't have a vested interest in who announces games. Both have several millions dollars in interest.There is a difference in remaining neutral and going over the top for the other team. My only complaint about Mayock was the fact that he was more critical of the Irish than their opponents. His knowledge of the game is what I liked about him... his constant going out of his way to be critical of the Irish and turning a blind eye to the opponent in many instances was what I didn't like.

I think you just proved BGIF's point. They went our of their way to hire someone who wouldn't shill for the Irish, which is what he said.

I think we all agree UND and NBC have a vested interest in who calls their games, but that they don't let that interest turn into Irish homerism on national airwaves unlike, as he pointed out, ESPN and the SEC.

Good luck though. It doesn't work on half of the phones it's supposed to. ex It stays open for about 1 minute on my phone before crashing. Made me miss watching Texas live.

Another question for the regulars, how early do you have to get to Legends of Notre Dame? My mom has a bad knee so we thought about dropping her there and go back to park in Burke and hit up the bookstore before meeting her back there for lunch.

Also, approximately how far is the walk back to Burke after the game?

I'm remarkably unexcited about today's game. This feeling isn't worth whatever relative certainty comes from playing cupcakes.

Ha. Ironically I just came in here to post something along the lines of "GAMEDAY BABY!"

I'm with the others. We get 12 of these a year. I would still be excited if we were only seeing a scrimmage today. In fact, going into a game where it's more likely than not that we will win only makes it more exciting for me. Games like the Rice game last year where we are just dropping bombs are some of the most fun.

Also, like others have said - let's take nothing for granted. I'm sure a lot of meatchincken fans weren't jazzed about playing app. st. I'll take me some ND football (and hopefully a W) however I can get it!

But I want to see some "old horses" as well; Jarrett Grace, Mathias Farley, and Corey Robinson light it up!

I want to see Torii break out starting this week.

I would really like to see a sensible game out of DeShone.

I need to see other running backs able to take carries from CJ Prosise, (after his patented electrifying sonic launches!)

I really want to see some of the young kids on the line, those not red shirting.

And I want to see the tight ends as a group move their games forward.

Not much, but it is my list. Save one thing which I refuse to verbalize. (Hint : It is something I don't want to see!)

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I don't understand not being excited to watch ND play, regardless of opponent.

Same here. We only get 13 Irish gamedays per year. How could a fan not be able to get excited for every one of them? Go Irish!!

I would also like to see Hunter finally have a game. He's been getting a fair number of snaps just not much action while in there.

Of course it's more exciting when we play big time games but these types of games give me a chance to enjoy my entire Saturday without wanting to break shit around 3pm. I'm fine with that a couple times a year.

Its on NBC, I think a game later in the year is going on NBCSN.

This game is going to be on NBC. Shamrock Series will be the NBC Sports game.

I have ATT Uverse. Just discovered there's an app to link to my DVR. I can watch almost anything live, and anything I set to record. However, ABC, NBC, and CBS won't play live. I will be at the wedding till probably 8 so I can watch the recording from my DVR on my phone.
