You're just as bad as kissmeimirish saying everyone, you bring nothing to the table with that.

I added '14 and '15, it still supports my claim. So, are you a dick, or idiot fool?

So we allow these dumbass people to come over here and insult some of our best posters?

Mods.....

You banned rtrn2glry and a couple others, yet visiting TROLLS can call out LAX?

Hmmm...not trying to cause a stir but I disagree with a number of your points.

First of all, despite all the hype little brother is getting this year, they are a mediocre team in the vast landscape of college football. They are an above average team in the B1G, but this year that is not saying much. The formula for beating msu is simple and kelly made it look simple. You stop Leveon Bell, force their below average QB and below average WRs to beat you. Not going to happen against a team with a better offense. MSU had the worst gameplan I have ever seen going into that game. No misdirection, no screen passes, nothing to slow down your extremely aggressive front seven. It was absolutely pathetic from an offensive game calling standpoint. I think even you can agree with that.

I would also make the arguement no one in america knows what Michigan has in the trenches thus far. Look at our line play on both sides last year pre-ND. It was pathetic, disgusting, worse than this year by EONS! The first week this season we play a team that WILL be in the NC game, a team that has 1st and 2nd round players at almost every position on both sides of the ball. Not a good gauge of talent for this Michigan team, anyone with a brain knew we were in over our heads.

Air force...well you guys know all about playing service academies and the triple option. There is no way with 6 days you can prepare for a triple option offense on defense completely (unless maybe your alabama....), the service academies year in and year out gouge top level defenses on the ground.

And UMASS is the epitome of bad in D1-A football. makes me angry we even schedule these games, but it gives our reserves a good chance to get on the field for a game.

This game will be the telling performance for both of our line units, it is the first game this year that we play a team with comparable talent, and talent the likes we will see the rest of the year in conference play.

I do see that ND is feeling good this year with your first 3-0 start in quite sometime, and I am happy to see another historical program returning to the place it should be in the college football spectrum.

Your comment that we are squabbling for loose change though is pretty unfounded and spiteful though. Whether or not you agree with it, we won the BCS SUGAR BOWL last year, we have had top ten recruiting classes the last few years and currently have the number two ranked recruiting class in the nation, and after it is all said and done could have the number one class. If you think this program is stuck in a rut that will never be crawled out of, I really dont know what I can say to you to make you realize that is ludicrous.

Michigan fans with any sense of football knowledge knew the Bama game wasnt going to even be close! But can you really dog a team for going out and scheduling the best team in the nation and getting whipped? I would rather schedule the best team in the nation every year OOC, play in cowboy stadium in prime time, and get beat...than schedule youngstown state, UConn, etc. and beat them by 45 points.

I'm sure some of that was in spite, I mean come on we had you beat the past 3 years and you broke every fans heart. With that said I do think ND has the far better defense. This front 7 has so much speed, every analysts who were the biggest critics of ND (Herby) have noticed that talent and speed we have on defense. I do think ND will be able to run the ball, which as a result will cause UM to stack the box. Now with doing that we have seen that Golson has no problem hurling the ball and our intermediate and deep balls will have open looks. Should be a good game

Disproved? Right..... going back to the beginning I said that Purdue/MSU had more NFL talent on defense than Michigan and that position by position each of those teams was stronger except at safety. Your "disproving" included listing guys projected 5th round at best or undrafted.

First of all... listing people who aren't projected to be drafted does not count. Second, by simple virtue of Short being a project 1st round player (#21 overall on Kiper's big board) Purdue by default has more NFL talent than Michigan who has at best 3 guys on the last draft tier. Especially when you factor in that Ricardo Allen... a 1st team all Big Ten CB as a sophomore... somehow isn't even listed? For real? Most places have him somewhere in the 10-20 range as a junior. For example, first hit on Google and I won't waste more time:

Ricardo Allen*|*Purdue,*CB*:*2014 NFL Draft Scout Player Profile

Position by position... are you seriously going to say you have a better DL than MSU? Better CBs than Purdue? Better LBs than MSU? That's what I stated and you have done absolutely nothing to "disprove" that. Simply look at this list:

Big Ten Player Rankings: The Top 50 Players for 2012 | AthlonSports.com

Purdue gets 2 defensive players in the top 15 overall players in the entire Big Ten.... Michigan doesn't get a single defensive player on the list until Kovacs at #50. MSU has SEVEN defensive players all ranked ahead of Kovacs. What you're arguing for is pure insanity. And I'm officially bored with this.

PS. Someone on this forum had a list of the top 25 or so players by position projected nationally for 2012... I can't seem to find it, but if you still have it please post it here. It says more of the same. Arguing that Michigan has more "talent" on defense then either MSU or Purdue is simply nonsensical.

SOMEBODY GET THIS MAN A BEER!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with Sherm's comment, that we need to put up or shut up this yr. As much as I HATE Michigan, none of us ND fans are really in a position to say SH!T considering all a michigan fan has to do is laugh and point at the score from the last 3 yrs. I say we sit back with class like the University we love stands for and watch the game Saturday night and pray to Our Lady that Her University kicks the EVER LIVING SH!T OUT of a team that has broken our hearts the last 3 yrs. Than if or when that happens we can talk sh!t from a position of power! WE ARE N D!

Good thing you didn't, I'd hate for you to see the list for 2014 and '15

Ricardo Allen CB 10 Purdue Jr 5-09 186
Bruce Gaston DT 13 Purdue Jr 6-2 305
Ryan Isaac DT 51 Purdue Jr 6-4 295
Will Lucas OLB 55 Purdue Jr 5-11 230

Jibreel Black DT 48 Michigan Jr 6-2 280
Thomas Gordon FS 25 Michigan rJr 5-11 208
Blake Countess CB 22 Michigan So 5-10 180
Brennen Beyer DE 19 Michigan So 6-3 252
Jake Ryan OLB 12 Michigan rSo 6-2 242

By my count that's 4 for Purdue and 5 for Michigan, not to mention the 2 person difference in the 2013 list. You asked about NFL talent, I provided a list of years 2013-2015 of NFL talent for Purdue and Michigan. Your wrong, get over it.

OMG!!!! BLAKE COUNTESS ISN'T EVEN PLAYING!!!!!!!!! Are you serious right now? The whole point was that in this game, position by position, ND will have faced better talent. Listing someone out for the year with injury obviously does not count as we won't be facing him. This would be the equivalent of heading into the USC game and saying "USC has a questionable OL" and you saying "NUH UH!!!!! THEY HAVE KHALED HOLMES WHO IS A BEAST!!!!!!" I never, ever would have said Purdue's CBs were better than Michigan's if Blake Countess was playing. Second, trying to project 2015 players is a stretch at best... bordering on impossible. For instance, Harrison Smith wouldn't even have been brought back for a 5th year based on his junior year performance (much less soph)... had a great senior season... and after his 5th year was a 1st round draft pick. So all of your non-draft eligible players shouldn't even be considered.

Here is what I originally said and you REFUSE to actually speak to specifically besides saying "you're wrong" and that you "disproved" my point:
We got 20 against Purdue and MSU... two teams with quite a few NFL caliber players... and Michigan's is simply worse man for man than either of those two teams. Their DL is nowhere near MSU/Purdue... their LBs are nowhere near MSU.... their CBs are nowhere near Purdue...

So here are the premises that you can try to debate to "disprove" what I'm saying:

P1. Purdue and MSU each have more NFL talent.
P2. By position, Michigan does not have a position group besides safety better than the teams I listed.

In support of premise one... already showed you the list for MSU and Purdue has the #21 overall player on Kiper's big board plus Ricardo Allen who is considered a top 10ish positional player. Michigan doesn't have a single draft eligible player listed higher than the very last draft tier by any service (5th round and later). Speak directly to that.

In support of premise two... MSU's DL clearly better, Purdue has a 1st round draft pick and a top 15ish underclassmen talent... Michigan has 1 6th roundish borderline draftable player and 1 guy you listed as #47 at his position... aka not even getting a sniff of getting drafted. At CB, JT Floyd is very comparable to Johnson (basically ranked the same by all services linked so far) and Ricardo Allen is a top 10ish, 1st team all-big ten player while Blake Countess' replacement is a nobody.... point Purdue. At LB all I said was MSU's were better and it doesn't seem you want to debate that so we're good there. Tell me specifically which one of these points stemming from my OP you think is so egregiously wrong.

This will be my first game in south bend...any tips on places to park or any other gameday tips?

Will I get spit on like I did at ohio 2 years ago?

Yes, park in Ann Arbor, she's a wh***. Spit on? Yeah, that's likely at an ND game.

Link works. Not when I originally went on, but after clicking college football on top, then paging back it came up.

Michigan fan here. I really hate constantly reading ND fans say you had the better team the last 3 years. If that was the case you would've won at least one of those games, and you wouldn't have lost so many other games during those seasons. That is the exact typical Irish fan attitude that gives you guys the reputation you have. I'm not talking to all Irish fans, I'm talking to the ones that are always talking about bad luck, bad officiating, blah blah blah that caused you to lose games you should've won. With that said, I know alot of Irish fans that aren't that way, and I apologize you get lumped in with the bad ones. Just so annoying always hearing so many excuses year after year. I think this game will be close. Michigan has a great offense again, but ND will dominate the lines on both sides of the ball. If we actually run Denard, unlike the Bama game, it will be really close.
Unbiased prediction ND 31 Mich 28
Homer hopeful prediction Mich 31 ND 21

Last year we were a better team then most of the teams we played. But when you keep turning the ball over like ND did you won't win.

My issue, is that we can talk all the **** we want about Michigan, and how much better we are, and how lucky they have been, or they are a one man team, or we are on the rise, etc, etc.

Notre Dame has been the better team the last 2 years and that resulted in 0 wins. So Notre Dame may be the better team this year as well, time to shut up and man up. Let Michigan talk all they want because the last word will be said after Saturday's game.

This, just this.

They're all fine. ]\/[ is cool dude who has been on here forever... although he making me exasperated right now LOL. Re-reading seems like one of those classic internet arguments that in real life would probably have been hashed out with both people coming to an agreement in 5 minutes. His overall point seems to be that Michigan has a higher quantity of guys that could conceivably play NFL football, whereas my original OP was intended to convey that there were a couple truly elite guys on MSU/Purdue and Michigan doesn't seem to have anyone on that tier.... and therefor we will have likely faced better individual talents at each position group over the past 2 games than what Michigan will put on the field. Not necessarily mutually exclusive ideas.

New guy #1 is trying his darndest to be respectful... which is more than I can say for a lot of our posters. New guy #2 is questionable.

I am still confused how last year we played Air Force on our sixth straight game AFTER TWO ROAD GAMES and beat them 59-33. Yet, it is impossible to prepare for a triple option team in one week.

Copied from the Manti thread.

So i didnt see this being discussed anywhere and a search didnt return anything so I'm posting it here where people will be sure to look. I'm not sure who started it (guessing the students) but twitter is blowing up with #wearaleiformanti. I love this idea as a great way to show our support and give our love to Manti. Everyone who is going to the game, please wear a lei if you have one, if not im sure there will be students selling them somewhere. This kind of stuff makes me love Notre Dame and college sports so much

@Zach: ND's defense is no where near the defense of Bama. They have no legitamite corners on the roster, while Bama's corners litterally threw our receivers off the ball every snap. They were just too physically gifted. ND's secondary is for a lack of a better word, crap. Their 2 starting corners were recruited to play other positions Zach, but I would think that you would know that since you are a writer.

Also, while their D Line is excellent, they are missing their best player from a season ago in Aaron Lynch, and that was the guy who gave us the most trouble. Also, outside of Manti Teo, their LB does not have a lot of depth and talent, and when UM is running multiple running plays at them, it will wear on them for sure.

Manti Teo was non existent in last seasons game too, and I have yet to see ND contain Denard.

I just wanted to post the whole thing so everybody could see it.

@Thomas: Sorry Thomas I meant to say like he was one of the best players on their defense, and I meant to say that about Floyd.

Can you believe it? Anybody want to tell him Floyd didn't play defense? (much)

Yeah.. too bad this year our 2-deep rotation is ridiculous. Tuitt + Nix + Lewis-Moore+Day+ Springman +Shembo>Aaron Lynch. Thier O-Line will be destroyed. We have to contain the edge. Keep Denard in the pocket and game over.
