Sorry for the bump but I have to vent...

Went to stubhub and searched "notre dame michigan" and clicked on the first thing generated. Saw that the cheapest tickets were as low as $88 per seat.... Got rediculously excited, texted a few friends (mind you, last time I checked the cheapest ticket was $358 so you can understand my over-joy)... Looked further, and from that search stubhub gave me Notre Dame vs. MSU.

Buzzkill. To add something of value to this useless rant, here's the prices for ND vs. Michigan:

Why did this thread get castigated to mediocracy? Because everyone now sees the glaring holes in Michigan that have been there for several years?

Rumor of the day (it isn't a rumor, and it is intended to make a smile) Dantonio and Bielema have competing papers on the internet, available for $100, titled: How to beat Michigan, every time!

Anybody watch or talk with any scUM fans, they can't be happy with this game?! Take away Denards to longgg runs and the scUM really would have been in trouble. can't wait to hear the excuses, bama could beat the patriots according to many last week, wonder how much props they are giving AF now...probably saying they could beat the lions!
Man if we can contain denard we should kick them in the teeth up front, still scary tho with our shaky moments on D. But obviously this is a very very winnable game.

Anyone got a better report?

My scUM friends are pretty unhappy with their team so far. Getting blown out by Bama was one thing, but my best scUM fan friend told me last night that he expected to beat AF by 40.

He isn't returning my calls today for some reason...

To be fair, they didn't have very long to prepare for the triple option. Hard to defend when you are not use to it.

That being said, Air Force should have won.

if they were so smart they would have scrapped preparing for bama all pre season and just worried about AF lol!

I've been saying all along that this Mich team sits somewhere in the 25-30 range in the rankings. They lost their jump ball/Denard bailing out receiver in Junior Hemingway and a few key line players. The way that our DE and OLB have played contain over the past 2 weeks, turning everything inside, we should contain Denard. Shembo has played very well and Tuitt is well, Tuitt. I think we take it by 10.

This is all banking on the injuries from this week rectifying themselves over the next week or 2.

The best part about this year's schedule that was revealed with our game today, is that Mich plays Purdue the week after ND v Mich. That will be a very interesting litmus test.

I got Purdue over Michigan after what I have seen from both teams.

They will of course destroy UMass and Todd McShay will call it another "quality win" which is how he described this W for UM during one of the halftime shows on ESPN....not shocked but still what an idiot.

someone crush my optimism before i get my hopes up and we lose again...

I just don't see us losing to michigan! their recievers are basically purdues, but i dont think denard can throw the ball as well as purdue's qbs did, their lines are much weaker, and their no. 1 back had 7 yards on 8 carries against AIR FORCE.

They are currently like 117th in rush defense right now.

Misleading, but still quite nice.

Robinson is definitely as good a thrower as Purdue's qbs. What's more important though is that he has better skill athletes and most importantly, his running ability distracts players in coverage and causes them to make mistakes and so he has more open throwing opportunities than Purdue's team was going to have. Also, when he plays against teams without elite D speed and strong secondaries, he wins games for them by himself by getting huge gains on the ground. If you have excellent overall team speed and you play disciplined, this isn't an issue. Against ND, this will be an issue. Just got to minimize it.

Two things:

1. Fitzgerald Toussaint managed a putrid 7 yards on 8 carries against AF.

2. Western Kentucky just held Bama to 103 yards rushing on 31 carries.


It's unfair to judge Michigan completely, but there are some pretty obvious problems there.

Could you imagine this board if we got blasted by 30 at USC one week and than barely beat Navy in the next?

If we beat MSU it would be very likely. Gameday is never set for the next week until all the games are played.

Can't read on. You and I definitely watch football differently.

EDIT: Nevermind. I had to go on. It was like my eyes were drawn to it, the same way they would to a bad traffic accident. ND doesn't have excelent team speed on defense? They don't play disciplined defense? That is trolish or ignorant. Which?

Actually after looking at the schedule I would be suprised if they didn't go to FSU v Clemson next weekend. Both should be undefeated and it is their primetime ABC game.

Let's keep winning ball games and we'll see Gameday in Norman.

It is especially difficult for us to get Gameday to South Bend because all of our home games are on NBC and Gameday has a preference to showcase ABC/ESPN games (although there are exceptions to this--mostly big SEC games on CBS).
