During the Romo Era of EIU Football, some of the most exciting games were against TSU. Including a 52-49 win at home my senior year for homecoming.

Saturday will not be that exciting. We really ought to see a very smooth game again, just in Indiana instead of Ireland.

I'm always concerned about the Ireland hangover, as we saw in 2012 against Purdue. Obviously, TSU isn't Purdue, but we still need to make sure we avoid a sluggish start and don't let the visitors' spirits get too high in the first.

Do we know anything at all about Tennessee State's football team?
What sort of offense do they run? Do they have any individually good players who might challenge us? (I see famous alums include Richard Dent and Ed Too Tall Jones!)
Looks like they were pretty middling last year, though they did hold Jackson State to 16 points in one of JSU's closer games of the season.

I don't know much about them at all other than they're coached by Eddie George and they were picked to finish 5th in their conference.

Can't find much in the way of previews for them.

Really excited to see this defense against a traditional offense. I'm sky high on Golden in year 2 as a coach/play caller (not recruiter).

I like that Tennessee St is tempo, USC will run that and we may as well see it early.

Nothing in that article changes my mind that this game will be over early. Not sure what Eddie George or his players are supposed to say. "Yeah we're just going there to get a check and get blown out, but can't wait to see the campus"

At the end of the day, I just hope both teams avoid major injuries. This game was scheduled to fill our 12th game and give us an easier opponent after the Dublin jet lag, no more, no less.

I'm already used to the running clock, and in mismatches like this one, you'd better believe TSU is going to be used to it.

I’m not sure what people are hearing & why they think TSU is going to throw, but it’s the exact opposite.
Their weakness, according to TSU insiders, is their OL & they had a problem pass blocking all spring & Eddie George wants to run the ball & shorten the game.

At least if it’s on Peacock and ND sleepwalks before pulling away, no one will really witness it and just look at the final score
Idk, I’m thinking this team is gonna be drawing a lot of interest. Especially after that M game last year.

That's not exactly true. This game had some politics involved.

This is an FCS team. Absolutely zero to fear. We'll get to see how the other half lives for a change.
So being an FCS breaks our streak of never playing one correct? I thought I read there were only a small number of teams that hadn’t.

would really like to see Angeli get a lot of playing time in the 2nd half.

Yep. I also want to see a stale, boring, conservative offense. Run up the middle. Run to the left. Run to the right. Repeat.

Save what ya got for NC State and so on.

I will bet my entire 401k NBC won’t miss the opportunity to broadcast an HBCU on their main network for clout. Bookmark this
I’ll double down with you on that … it WILL be on NBC. The following wk vs CMU will be a Peacok viewing.
