First, the defense : On Rochell moving inside. Moving Isaac inside means you would have a big strong (one of the skrongest in the country) mobile defensive lineman potentially able to knock an offensive lineman into the fullback gap, first on the option list. What else would that do? Move Sheldon Day outside as the guy you are optioning off! Can you imagine? I do not believe that GeoTech has played against such a strong, mobile and un-block-able defensive lineman in a long time, if ever.
Also, if you watch GT attempt to pass on offense, it ain't pretty. Too many tells, even Tulane was able to stuff their passing game. If we don't eat them alive if they attempt to pass, screw it all!
So the moral is, get up big fast, and then just feast!
Then the offense : on everything. I am not convinced that this defense is any different than having a team of me out there. Like my coach used to say, "He's small, but he's slow!" I have seen little out of those cornerbacks. And I haven't seen much as far as perimeter play, like against teams with speed that spread the field. It is one thing to say that the GT front is dominating Geo Southern, or Tulane. It is another thing to expect that against Fuller, Brown, Hunter, Prosise, etc. Actually we have offensive linemen that may be faster than GT's 2015 opponent's skilled offensive players! (McGlinchey.) Better athletes, too!
Kelly gave you the game. The Irish reserve the right to throw long to the wide side receiver on any play. Now what are you going to do? I am telling you GT is smaller on defense than either Texas and Va., and they couldn't do it. Against GT, we just need to do it more.
Oh, yeah, and don't worry much about jitters with Kizer.
