Sure they have better athlete's than Navy, but do they even have half the heart? Navy does as well as they do because they have a team full of future Navy SEALs playing for them.

Not worried.

It's Navy with much better athletes. We've struggled with Navy as of late, this is one I have circled as a game we will probably lose.

This is one I have circled as a game that will help define BK's tenure at ND. It's year 6: You put the fist of God into GT's chest early and win, or STFU about being tough and hungry the rest of the way. No excuses.

Well, they went 11-3 last year. They beat Clemson, Georgia, and Mississippi State. All of their losses were by 6 points or less and they return a decent amount of starters. I'm fairly worried.

will be a challenge for sure. O line and D will play a big part in how this game goes. I'll be there.

Thomas is the real deal and this will be a nail biter unless we can grind em out and get up early. They have plenty of talent.

Did you know Thomas originally signed with Alabama as a CB but wanted to play QB so he went to GT instead? Dangerous, dangerous game. Way more than Navy. I'm a fan, so I can say that. I hope our team is up for every game on the schedule but GT will be a slugfest.

Yeah, they don't necessarily have super athletes (Recruiting ranks between 38-60 each year) , certainly better than Navy, but Paul Johnson is a decent coach. He'll get the most out of his team, and he'll make it a game. GT beat Mississippi State last year, Georgia, and Clemson. They did have 3 losses, but the scores were close in every one of those games (One of which was a decent Duke squad and another was FSU).

They murdered Miss St last year

This team is legit

Didn't they also lose to Duke and North Carolina?

I'm just glad the game is somewhat early in the season, before the option timing is perfected.

Yes but tech also lost they're top two running backs and wide receivers. That is a lot of production to replace by week 3. I worried about this game but Thomas can't do it by himself. Just my opinion.

Tough game for us early in the season, not sure all our motors will be runnin' on all cylinders at that point either. GT could be a sleeper team that ends up pretty good overall for the season.
Good game for D to rise up and keep their O off the field.

Anyone ever camped at Potato Creek State Park? 15 miles SW of the Bend? Thinking about camping there with some friends for the weekend of the GT game. Any advice/info is appreciated.

State lost two of their last three in the regular season and didn't exactly look thrilled to be playing GT. MSSt didn't give up more than 31 points in a game during the season. Tech scored 49.

I remember visiting for the GT game back in 2006 in Atlanta. Boy, the crowd there was nasty. I don't know why, but it's something about ND-GT that brings out the worst in people. We may be on par with Georgia in terms of disdain for Tech fans.

Fixed it for you. ND fans don't bring fish to football games to throw at opposing fans.

True. I don't remember fish, but there were sure a lot of glass beer bottles and cans being thrown on the field.

I used to live 5 minutes from Potato Creek. It's a sufficient place if all your looking for is a place to stay. There isn't much to do there besides hiking/biking/swimming, although the lake to swim in always seemed to be nasty. If you're doing tents be prepared to wear warm clothes at night since its been a really cool summer in SB

I'll be at this one also. Usually hit the opener but thought we would change it up this year. Really looking forward to this one. I hope ND is still unbeaten going in.

It's only 34-0 in the first Q... Alcorn still has plenty of time.......

I really hope that's the only reason they look so good, they have 48 and it's not halftime. Damn, my fear level just jumped at least 2 points.

GT IS the 16th ranked AP team but Alcorn St has never beaten a team in Div I. They only played less than 10 games against that competition and routinely get slaughtered. Montana or N. D. State could put up a 48-0 lead against them.

What BGIF is saying is we should be scared of ND State and Montana also.....

So we'd score 27 and burn all of our timeouts?
