because top teams are top teams, with top players. Thats why they dont play freshman. If we suck and freshman studs arent going to get playing time than what reason does anyone have to come here and play ball? Education? Theses kids want to play on sunday, not graduate from notre dame and get office jobs.
Lol. This the exact reason they come to ND. 95% of these kids will not make it to the NFL.

Like Michigan should curb stomp Akron? Like Stanford should curb stomp Army? Like USC should curb stomp WSU?

It's College Football. **** happens. Do we need to improve in a lot of areas? Yeah. But I'll take a win every time.

I am not taking up for Pat.

But IM8 get you head out of your butt! We haven't been good all year long. Temple wasn't impressive at all. Michigan we played terrible. and Tonight we played even worse however we were playing a terrible team.

If ND wants to be taken serious we have to curb stomp these teams. That;s what the the voters want to see.

I am tired of all of you posters saying oh nothing to worry about bull sh!t it is time to worry we have no regular running back. Our defense couldn't stop a D II school. This team is going to get its face kicked in against some of these other teams on the schedule.

It's not the reason five stars come to ND. Do you seriously not understand this? Our team would be way better off this ear and for the future if Gunner was at QB this year. Unfortunately Kelly couldn't find room on the plane to fly him to games last year, let alone play him. So we have Rees. Next year we'll have Carlisle and Atkinson again because Kelly can't be bothered to give him a shot because our other guys are doing so well at 2.7 yards per freaking carry.

If anyone wants to bet me, I will bet we win all our games until after USC. All of the people bitching about how bad we suck need to put their money where their mouths are. If ND doesn't win all of the games until after the USC game, then ill leave the board for the rest of the year. Put up or shut up. Who's down?

I'll take that action. There is no way we beat OU with our current squad. I love ND; but be serious. The Sooners scored 60 against a better D than we've put on the field this year.

You're in then my man. Assuming that if they do win, you'll leave for the rest of the season then.

I know our D hasn't played well but you're comfortable saying that Tulsa has a better D than we do?

I'll honor the bet. In fact, I would be ecstatic if you were right. Also, I'm pretty sure a 6-1 record would more than help me cope with the loss of IE for the year. Haha

I'll admit, I may have ventured a little far into dramatics. That said, I'm fairly comfortable in saying we will lose by more than 30 if we play OU like we played Purdue.

That is certainly true. The talent is there, though. We need to get the execution down and in a hurry

I'm hoping we do man. Never mind OU, if we don't get it together ASAP, Sparty will smack us around. Yeah, there offense is atrocious, but Cook seemed to spur them in the right direction today. With there D, they won't have to score much to put us in a bind.

50/50.... Probably slightly less,

Those are better than the odds I had in mind. I seriously hope you guys are right. I suppose I am being a pessimist; but man, the Irish have looked way too shaky for me to have the same confidence in them as I did when the season was starting.

I love cam. Cam should be he 1 and Bryant and folston need some totes.

Nice Run Cam.

I love Cam

Cam runs with such passion!!

**** Yes Cam.

Get some cam

**** yes. Go Cam.

Cam's picking up first downs on predictable running plays. Why not give him the ball more often?

All this. Give the Cam the damn ball!

let's put our slowest players on the field at all times..

Our "slowest player" runs between the tackles better than any of the other upperclassmen. He also holds onto the ball pretty well, blocks well, follows his blockers, and he'll go back into a game after he's bleedin' from his damn head. He should be our starting back.

We're going to lose more to transfers for sure. This is so stupid. How many five stars need to transfer before he staff clues in?

Maybe if they prove themselves in practices and in games, they'll all start seeing the field. 5 stars in a recruiting service don't always translate to 5 stars on the field. If they don't want to be part of this program, then they're free to leave.

Cam runs hard...I'll give him that.

But what do you think is going through Bryant's head right now?

"How can I get as good as Cam", I hope.

A little behind on this but went back and watched the game. K.Russell is really getting abused. Poor tackling and bad angles makes for some tough moments.

http://irish.nbcsports.com/2013/09/15/five-things-we-learned-notre-dame-31-purdue-24/

by Keith Arnold

1. With no true pass rush to speak of, the Irish need to find a way to get off the field on third down.

2. For much of the first half, the Irish were their own worst enemy on offense, refusing to stretch the field.

3. While using a lot of personnel is a good thing, being predictable certainly isn’t.

4. A year after doing all of the little things right, the Irish’s growing pains on defense are quite obvious.

5. A season after riding ugly victories all the way to the NC game, give credit to Tommy Rees and the Irish for getting out of West Lafayette alive.
