Serious question: since NIL is legal, the price of players seems to have skyrocketed from bag men days (if old rumors were accurate). Will a 5 figure bag outside the cap really make a big difference for a significant amount of recruitments where players are already pulling in 6 figures? We all know the SEC is too poor to afford much more than a paltry 5 figures
I mean, the SEC isn't too poor? LSU is running secret meetings on essentially how to squirrel state money into the football program, which really isn't a departure from their historical nature even if it is in kind. My greater point was they want to shrink the overall competitive pool, slow the rising costs, and strengthen their collective conference at the expense of everyone else. As the clip points out, the SEC doesn't consider getting caught cheating as reputational damage to their institutions where a lot of schools, including ours, does. To get all business-speak for a moment, that's a comparative advantage they'd really like to exploit again.

I'm always reminded of Andy Staples explanation for the rise of the SEC in the early 2000s. To sum up, the SEC has always cheated, but up until Slive became commissioner they were constantly narcing on each other to the NCAA. Slive put a stop to that, kept everything inhouse, and the conference zoomed to the top of college football.

The SEC is not poor to the extent that they bring in massive amounts of money through TV deals and CFP proceeds and can distribute that through revenue sharing. They're poor in the sense that their alumni/donor base doesn't seem to put as much money into their NIL collectives as the Big 10 schools (UT and A&M oil money aside).

So now he's demanding LSU give him *their copy* of his Heisman.

The trophy committee gives a copy to the player and one to the school. He wants theirs. Lol not happening.

I don't even gaf about LSU, but get fucked Jayden.

This is straight up a strange one. It’s akin to mental breakdown or something. From what I remember Daniels was always smiling when playing, seemingly a good guy. He never seemed like a showboat or me first player. I haven’t followed him too closely at lsu but I can’t remember anything like this at commanders too. It’s like he’s intentionally tarnishing and sabotaging himself at lsu.

Well, some people think money is 'tax free' when it comes in greenbacks.
