These kids are spending all of this money before they leave. Until they get their LSU money, they won't be able to pay it back. Watch what happens in the future. Kids are going to spend all this money, transfer, not be able to pay the buyout and then get left hung out to dry by the new team. They'll be a few hundred thousand in debt and have to pay it back themselves with their new deal or they'll just get stuck with tab if they ever get cut by the new team.

The 3-star guy is Cedrick Simmons. He's a 3-star, despite the ridiculous numbers, for a couple of reasons. He's small at 5' 8 1/2" and he played at a small HS against other small HS's. He may not have faced a single D1 player all year. Basically the only outstanding player on his team, so they just fed him the ball all year. Good player and who knows how he'll develop or how Bama will use him, but raw numbers have to be interpreted in context.

In HS, who you're playing is huge. My step daughter goes to a big private Christian school. K-12. They beat up on 2A teams. I went to a home game where they played a 5A team and got beat so bad, it was hard to watch. My son was a state qualifier in wrestling in 5A. His best finish was #7 in the state. He's pinned 5 guys that finished as the state championship runner up in lower classes. The competition level is a huge factor.

Can pretty much figure that the 3* guy is an athletic guy who's probably undersized and probably dominating a bunch of D2 caliber opposition at a private school. The 5* is probably playing against very good competition and sitting out parts of games with elite measurables.

Almost certainly a dig at Tulane/JMU, but complaining about the CFP when the SEC literally had 4 of the last 5 at large spots is how dumb these folks are

ND needs to win the title this year and then call a meeting of the other major conferences and just boot the SEC out...tell them to take their ball and go home.

I’m sticking with my theory that the SEC raised such hell for only getting 3 teams in during the first 12 team playoff, that the committee knew they were giving them 5 all year. Hence the weird movement of Bama after the Auburn game. They knew they had to move them up to protect against a ND-Bama comp.
