TBH, I didn't really notice college football lacking quality in the era between Stallings and Saban. There is never a void for elite programs. I will, in my own mind, typically associate the rise of Saban's Alabama with the fall of Urban Meyer's Florida however.

Their pounding of Miami in the 1993 Sugar Bowl will forever be a memory for me.
