OK - so it's a slow day at work today and this was discussed in a recruits thread, so I'll move it here...what are some member's screen names and avatar's that you have to look twice at and what are they misintepreted as? Here's a few off the top of my/other's head:

PANDFAN: A Panda fan obviously.
bobbyok1: Poppycock per GITF
ALLGATOR: Alligator
Wooly/Whiskeyjack/beryirish: I feel like if I met you guys in person you would look like The Dude/Walter/The Jesus
irishhog77: Are you really a slight little man who parades around in a Superman costume?

I have to believe PANDFAN is Pa (as in Pennsylvania) ND (as in ND) and FAN (as in Fan). Or perhaps he is to Pandas as what Richard Geer is to Hamsters.

Though my avatar is actually a picture of my twin sister, I bear an uncanny resemblance. My screen name is pronounced "dee-shans" (rhymes with cans) and not "da-shawns."

My twin sis is 4 minutes and 23 seconds older than I am. She stopped bragging about that fact around the time we hit 40.

That was in a previous century.

Out of respect to her feelings I won't say which one.

"Mofo" is spelled correctly and quite appropriate.

Avatar - "Big Red" battle flag carried by the Citadel Cadets servingin the Confederate Army during the Civil War. Actual flag from 1860s found in the Iowa Historical Society collection and returned to the Citadel recently. Now on display at the school.

Reason for avatar - I go to school there, though not a cadet. This is essentially the same flag as the SC state flag, just red and not blue.

I am not originally from SC but did genealogy and found out my family came to America from Ireland/England through Charleston in the early 1700s and resided in SC before spreading out after the Civil War.

Handle: Cackalacky. Just what you think. That where I be. Plus South Cackalack has produced some fine ND footballers.

How do you go to The Citadel but aren't a cadet? I didn't know that was possible.

They have an excellent civil, environmental, and electrical engineering program, which I am in, and allow civilians to come take the program at night. They also allow Officer Candidates from all armed services, as well as veterans to take classes there. So after working fulltime I go to school there 4 hours every night. Its basically a separate "school or program" but I still take courses with cadets and are tought the same material by the same teachers the cadets are. Pretty cool actually.

Its a big deal around here. Probably not so much outside of the state.

I thought for the longest time that PANDFAN was "Pennsylvania ND Fan"... until he changed his avatar to some sort of Panda creation.

Haha love this one. If Whiskey doesn't look like Walter I'll be pretty disappointed. Ditto for bery and the Jesus. Wooly's mentioned that he is in finance so I doubt he looks much like the Dude (and I'll be honest, I was pretty disappointed ...) lol

I'm fairly certain that's what his handle is intended to mean.

It always looked like PANDAFAN to me, so I changed his title to "I LOVE PANDAS!!1" at some point. So I may bear some small measure of responsibility for this one.

For a long time, I couldn't figure out what "ACamp" was until I realized it was in reference to another member. I was thinking, " what kind of camp is 'ACamp?' Why is this dude so obsessed with it?"
