Yeah it was from the Bang Bang group. I don't usually participate in the conversations but I read stuff from time to time. Peter is saying they haven't been cleared yet but will be. The only ones he knows for sure are KR and DD but 3-4 are expected to be cleared and 1 definitely will not. And he clarified that cleared doesn't mean innocent but they will be cleared to continue their football activities. I don't know if this guy knows what he is talking about but he sounded sure. Didn't say it was a rumor and pretty much goes with all of the rumors that have been surfacing over her this past week.

So, I check this thread every night lately, hoping to find some insight on whether Russell (and to a lesser extent Ishaq and Daniels) will be playing against Michigan. I've learned much, but not that. Bang bang.

I told you earlier in the thread. My connection had KVR and DD being as good as reinstated (Assumed for time served.) And that there was no good word on at least two others. But that was just before EH was brought into the thing.

They made it sound like one thing led to another, and that many more were involved, complicating things. The also made it clear that the sex for papers thing was bull shit.

They were clear that things had to wind through the process, and not sure how long that would take.

I think their information was good because of what they didn't say, IMO. It indicated to me that some things hadn't been decided, and it was different incidents tied together, instead of one big conspiracy. Something I haven't mentioned yet, that is kind of interesting, is that they were awestruck by the scope of the investigation. What is the cliché? No stone unturned?

But in all fairness, only one of my "source pipeline" was in Toledo. The other was much closer to the situation. So I didn't talk to the source close to the situation, it was just relayed to me. I am sure I got less detail. Like I am sure the original person knew that EH was about to be included, but said nothing. That is why he was so vague about the number cleared, versus the number that would be disciplined in a more major way.

Also, the biggest thing they verified to me is the politics and workings of this whole thing. Not wanting to sound like even more of an asshole than I already do, I wondered if you had some people involved that don't understand how kids study and write papers these days, or have "hookups," either. Someone clearly grounded in the 1970's. I am kidding. We had just as much sex then. But I wondered if an overwhelming panic set into the process, at how wide spread it was, and how salacious the details.

Its hilarious that these people are saying guys are clear. As of yesterday at 4pm, none of them had met with the council. So how can they be clear? DD was def not in a film session yesterday.

The BangBang group is a total cess pool. I just have a hard time understanding some of the stuff that goes on in that group.

The University should have an expedited process for all students involved in any activity who are adversely affected by delays in the decision process. These students are being punished without true due process.

See, that was one of my points. And it addresses the quality of information, and how distant it is from what is going on.

So bear with me. These guys hear, "DD has proof he wrote his papers." Or, "KVR is involved because his girlfriend is the one who helped the others." Etc., Etc., Etc. Circumstances that would lead a lay person to believe these guys were off the hook. These rumors are not filtered through someone with a sophisticated knowledge of the process. And whatever was leaked included nothing about final Honor Code findings. However it was full of assumptions made at every retelling. That is what I told the source that related what I have shared, and why in my original post I expressed doubt of the veracity of what was posted. But I do think they got a piece of the truth :
1) This was an exhaustive, expensive, maniacally thorough investigation.
2) This came from a bunch of activities, by a number of individuals that lacked the cohesiveness required to call it a scandal.
3) There were different levels of proof, different levels of culpability, and a whole lot of gray area.
4) The original sources of what was about to transpire came from within ND, and had their own agenda.
5) The second leaked source came from within the NCAA.
6) 4 and 5 were "WTF" moments, where people ran their mouths first without thinking or having all of the details.
7) The whole thing snowballed out of control, and scarred and outraged quite a few people.
8) There is no guarantee there will be anything close to justice with this Honor Code committee and their meetings to resolve these issues.
9) Anyone that talks about reinstatement is jumping the gun, as did those that talked of vacating wins.
10) More and more this is looking like a University and Honor Code situation, and less and less like anything to do with the NCAA.

So should we not expect to hear anything today? I'd like to not be constantly checking my computer all day.

BKs noon presser. He will most definitely be asked. I would expect to hear a timeline of sorts for this week regarding the players in question. My guess is, if they aren't back at practice by tomorrow they won't play this weekend.

My prediction for all info BK will give is unfortunately: "I haven't been told anything. We hope it's settled soon. No timeline", per the usual disappointments of being a ND fan. It's science.
