They should be doing what DD and KRuss are doing. Staying out of the spotlight, stop doing anything that could be perceived as embarrassing to the university. Basically, cool their jets until this thing is hashed out. Especially Ishaq, who has his entire career on the line. They have the rest of their lives to party at sh!tty nightclubs. Maybe right now is a better time to focus on being responsible for once.

Basically... Act like an adult.

This is what I think too. Optics are important. People talk. You don't want ANYONE with any decision making authoirty hearing that you are not taking things seriously. Its an incredibly serious situation, so look like you understand that.

That said, standing at a bar with a beer in your hand, staying sober, and going home early are compatible with laying low. You just don't want to be partying for a few weeks.

I think we will hear about the verdict by Monday at the latest, if they are actually not going to get in trouble.

I absolutely hate this comment. Not just from you, but people in general that use it for people that are old enough to serve our country, buy alcohol, carry a firearm, finance cars and houses, and the list goes on. They are not kids, some may be immature. People mature at a different rate. But they are not kids.

They are also not typical, average students.

How reputable is that guy? Says decision late today or beginning of week (followed him on twitter cause link didn't work).

And I'm a BA. Literally.

Have no idea, but obviously behind the scenes there was a definite push to get this all decided before Michigan week, if at all possible.

I'm cool as a cucumber, so chill with the "RELAX" comments.

But it could also mean they know they are toast anyway, whereas Daniels and Russell don't feel this way.

Who knows.

Also, this should teach all college students to use your personal emails not the school emails.

This is really the only takeaway from this whole "scandal."

I wonder if the administration realizes how big of a PR disaster it would be to announce findings/vacating wins/dismissals during Michigan week. I know they don't care, but talk about a huge distraction... especially if game day comes to ND.

Stop putting DD and KRuss up on some mantle. Just because jimmymac did not see them at Club Feve does not mean they are not out at some other bar or at house parties (remember, they are not 21).

So instead we should assume they are doing something similar with no proof as opposed to continue the discussion about the players we actually knew were out.

That is a definite in regards to being able to investigate the issue, and look for more dirt. There is still some underlying issues with personal emails if you are exchanging with someone that could potentially put out damning information about you. Just because you are not allowing them to look through your personal email, doesn't mean the correspondent won't be forthcoming with their information. Like I said though, it would lessen the degree to which an investigation could be performed.

We should assume nothing because we know nothing. We shouldn't be bashing the players that were seen out and then saying they should be more like KRuss and DD.

Several have opinions that it was irresponsible for the players to be out. They are free to express them. They also have opinions that the other two were more responsible by not being there. They are also to freely express those. Perception is a part of life. The perception these players gave by being where they were with the timing of the surrounding situation, isn't a good one.

I never made assumptions that they were acting up or getting hammered. What I am saying is that they shouldn't be putting themselves in compromising situations when their actions have already caused our current state of national embarrassment.

Tell me, what do you think the headlines would be if some drunk bro came up to them at the bar and started a fight? Do you think the national media would say, "oh, they were just being kids and not really drinking too much at the bar". No... they would say that a bunch of already suspended Notre Dame football players were out getting hammered and beating up people.

Perception is reality, my friend. Regardless of how they are acting inside the actual club, there is zero upside to being there in the first place. Again, they have their entire lives to dance on fatties in sh!tty nightclubs. I don't think giving it a rest until the dust has cleared from a national story they created is too much to ask.

Again... you don't see KRuss and DD out there every night. This isn't "one night blowing off steam", they have continued to be seen out partying. Its embarrassing.

Interesting choice of word.

How is going out to drink putting themselves in a compromising position? You feel that they caused embarrassment to you (I say you since you used "our current state of national embarrassment") and thus you feel that they shouldn't go out.

What do you think that the national media would say if a bunch of non-suspended football players were out at a bar and got in a fight? The only difference would be the already suspended part, but it wouldn't be drastically different. You are taking your personal feelings and attaching it to this situation. That is fine, just admit to it.

Also how are adults going out for a drink embarrassing?

Personally I wouldn't be going out to clubs (well for that matter I hate clubs and avoid them like the plague, give me a nice pub or sports bar) and would be more likely to hang out in my room but I am not them, and there is nothing embarrassing about what they are doing, it might be different then what you would choose to do but that doesn't make it embarrassing.

Edit: I am not saying that it is the best choice to make nor the one that I would recommend, just that I find the wording of embarrassing objectionable.

I think that it's appropriate to point out when somebody doesn't know enough to lay low in a situation like this. It's a free country (last i checked) but perception goes a long way. They are in the spot-light whether they like it or not. Being seen clubbing at this point seems like a lapse in jugdement. Simmer!

Unless you saw or have eye witnesses saying that they have been staying in playing video games or whatever......

this is awesome.

Now we have to have eye witnesses to prove that somebody wasn't doing what you think they were.

That hurts my brain.
