If these guys are innocent, I really hope this process speeds up.

But if they're guilty, then off with them.

But if they're innocent, fuck Michigan.

My GF is a Michigan fan, as well as my daughter.

Come to think of it, Fuck Michigan would be a great tattoo. Instead of a 'mitten' for the state, it would be morphed in to a mitten giving the big middle finger.

I'd be furious if I was found to be innocent after being held out of one of the biggest games of the year--under the lights against Michigan. Such BS. ND needs to stop dragging its feet here.

1: The process is the process. And if the process says you're suspended from extracurriculars pending an investigation, they're not going to treat football players any different than band members or Observer staffers or members of the Student Senate. As others have said, it's what makes Notre Dame Notre Dame, and it became especially true once this got public.

2: No way they're all (or probably any of them) are "innocent." This wouldn't have gotten this far if they were. If rumors are true, there's some sliding scale of "guilty"/"not guilty" that may or may not ensnare some of them (it's fun, though, how we're all convinced KVR is undeserving of punishment but don't seem to much care about Hardy or Moore).

3: As a result of 2: I have a hard time thinking this much influences anyone's future decision about whether to play for Notre Dame in 2015. It's only really an option for Russell and Daniels. They'll both make a business decision either way. Certainly none who are eligible to play this year are sitting out or transferring, though, that doesn't even make sense.

4: All that said, it's time to get this over with. Even if they can't fully contribute this week, we all need to move on.

Well for one thing, we have not heard much positive news regarding Moore's reinstatement, and we have heard nothing on Hardy. Some of it may be because of talent level, but I am not talking about Moore or Hardy because I have not heard much on either of them. The only rumors we have heard is that Moore was the only one that was not going to be reinstated.

If this has any effect on a recruit then they weren't interested in ND and needed an excuse to eliminate them. Bottom line, don't cheat or lie. (Also, don't snitch.)

If I'm a parent of a recruit, this is a positive for me because education should be first. I won't tolerate shortcuts and I'd know ND is serious about holding my kid accountable. Everyone is different but that's me.

Once the investigation is DONE, for any student in any activity adversely affected - including but not limited to football players - make the decision one way or the other. Delay equals more punishment. Basic fairness. Change the process for the future.
