The true 1988 AL MVP lost his battle with cancer today. I grew up watching Mike Greenwell and those teams.

Sorry to hear of Greenwell's passing, but not a single soul unaffiliated with the Red Sox ever thought he deserved that award. (He literally received one vote from a Boston homer.) Greenwell's performance wasn't MVP-worthy most years, and certainly not following Canseco's historic season.

Damn. Hate that. One of my favorite non-Dodgers players. Lacked consistent power numbers but dude could rake. I know analytics doesn’t give a shit but he had a lifetime .300 average. Not a lot of players can make that claim who aren’t in the HOF.

John Lodge, who was the bassist and co-lead vocalist of The Moody Blues has passed away at 82. Lodge joined the band in 1966 and was with them throughout their most successful period. He was a major part of the writing and singing on their most famous album, Days Of Future Passed.

That's what I remember her from. I know she did a lot of other movies like Annie Hall and First Wives Club, but I never watched any of them that I can recall.
Same, I've never seen those others. For some reason I thought Diane Keaton had a longer resume of big titles, but it's really just a handful. Maybe it was her unique look that put her name on the map?

I hope they got that bitch slap from Pacino in one take! Look like he whacked her good.

Crazy enough, one of the movies I always remember her starring in was Looking For Mr. Goodbar which has a violent and disturbing end to it. Somehow I ended up watching the movie on HBO as a kid. It has always remained etched in my memory (in a bad way).

I remember Keaton best from Father of the Bride and The Family Stone, where she had a bittersweet topless romantic scene with double mastectomy scars. I'd share the poignant sequence, but apparently, a video showing a complete absence of breasts is too pornographic for the powers that be (Youtube/government/whatever.)

Chick flicks were her wheelhouse.

True, but even among those she doesn't have a huge list of hits I feel like. Somethings Gotta Give and what...Father of the Bride? I did see Family Stone with a girlfriend at the time, pretty mediocre and forgettable. I dunno, for some reason her name and look were very recognizable I guess. I just thought she had a more extensive list of hits besides the Godfather and a few others and she was just a supporting character in that trilogy.

Crazy. I’ve seen the God Father maybe 30 times and am now just realizing this.

Original KISS guitarist Ace Frehley died today at the age of 74.

He fell 3 weeks ago and had to cancel an upcoming show, but the fall led to a brain bleed and eventually to being placed on life support, then his death today.

Great guitarist but Gene & Paul couldn’t abide his abusing drugs & alcohol. I remember his first post-Kiss solo album. He had Anton Figg (From Paul Schaffer’s band on Letterman) on drums. RIP

RIP. I hope that God let’s him in his gate.

Kiss is by far the worst band of all time. They’re brutal. Hearing that garbage makes my ears bleed and I question who calls that shit music. I can’t think of just one good Kiss song.

My favorite guitar player. I have two Ace tee shirts that i wear regularly. I wanted to buy one of his personalized Les Paul blue burst guitars that he hand paints for you but always put it off. Too late now 😪

While this wasn't originally recorded with Ace in '90/'91, he would have played it when he returned in '96 for a spell. Now he's playing it up above. One of my favorite Kiss songs, a rare case when the remake/cover is way better than the original recording:

Found this many years ago from the finale to Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey

You can make a case that he's one of the most influential guitarists ever. Not so much his style or skill, but he's the reason that a few million kids of the 70s started playing guitar. NOBODY was cooler in the mid to late 70s than Ace. He could definitely light up a solo and had a great feel for licks.
