Eddie Money has left us. Died from complications from a heart valve.

RIP and take me home tonight Eddie.

I haven't been on the board in a while.

I was a big fan of Eddie Money as he had catchy pop-rock songs. I got to see him live several times and it is amazing how many of his songs are classic rock radio staples. Take Me Home Tonight, Shakin', I Think I'm In Love, I Wanna Go Back, Walk On Water, Bring Me Some Water, Two Tickets To Paradise, Baby Hold On. Good stuff.

I was also a fan of The Cars.

RIP Eddie Money
RIP Ric Ocasek

Neil Innes passed away earlier today at the age of 75. He was a comedian and musician who wrote much of the music for Monty Python and was often featured in their skits and movies. Many will remember him as Ron Nasty, the John Lennon like character in the Beatles mocumentary The Rutles. Innes did a mean Lennon impersonation in the film and wrote all the music for it.

They're leaving us quickly.

Sam Wyche former IU and Cincinnati Bengal HC has passed away.

Former NBA commissioner David Stern has passed. Credited with making the NBA a world wide commodity.

Don Larsen, the only pitcher to pitch a perfect game in the World Series. While not a great pitcher, that achievement placed him on the lores with other Yankee greats.

Larsen's from Michigan City. He grew up with a bunch of my good friends' parents. The word was he was the best basketball player in town by the time he was a freshman but The Red Devils didn't let freshmen play varsity so he was stuck on the JV team, called the Pink Imps... or just the Pimps in my day. He moved during his freshman year to LA or San Diego.

RIP El Perfecto

Same here. I honestly thought he died a few years ago.

He had a heart transplant back in 2016 and had been battling cancer, but he hung in there.

Didn't know he was from MC. Pretty sure back then the IHSAA didn't allow freshmen to play above the freshman level regardless of the sport. Similar to the NCAA rule where freshmen couldn't play varsity until 1968 or 69. Freshmen still couldn't play varsity football or bball until 72 if memory serves me correctly.

RIP Neil Peart.

I am so sad and cannot comprehend this loss.

Such an amazing drummer and songwriter. I've met Geddy and Alex (handshakes) but Neil was on another level. Rush was that good!!

Mr. Peart had gone through a lot of challenges. Wife died of cancer and daughter died in an auto accident several months later. He still did the RIO tour. He was the consummate, reluctant musician.

Hope someone can post "The Professor and his Drumkit".

I've lost a Canadian Icon and all his under-rated contributions to the music world.

Just an amazing, humble man that went through a lot of challenges.

Would love to see some of his work embedded in this thread. He was a very talented man and a very good man that faced too many challenges. Thanks in advance.

Cheers and Go Irish!!

Couldn't give you reps. Will try later.

For those that do not like Rush, check out the entire RIO video.

I warmed up to Geddy's voice in 78/79 but they may have the best rhythm section in the past 50 years?

I didn't know Neil, nor did I know he was challenged. His percussion was among the best but his writing was the best. IMHO, Geddy was top 5 and Alex was top 5. They do not exist without each other.

I'm really sad. A great part of Canadian music has been lost. O cannot see it being replaced.

Cheers and Go Irish!!

Pete Dye renowned golf course architect passed away at the age of 94. Not only did he design many famous courses and holes, he collaborated with many others providing advice. Nicklaus wrote a great tribute. A transplanted Hoosier he will be missed.

Reps. Greenore has stated it very well. NP was the truest master of his craft. Absolutely amazing.

He will be missed but his contributions to the music industry will live on forever.

Christopher Tolkien, son of J.R.R. Tolkien, passed away today at the age of 95. The senior Tolkien, shortly before his death in the early 70's, named his son as his literary heir. It was Christopher who then took all of his father's vast amounts of notes, notebooks, maps, stories, rewritten stories, re-re-re-rewritten stories, and everything else and edited them down into a comprehensible narrative that was published as The Silmarillion. He later published a number of other volumes containing his dad's previously unpublished stories.

I was watching Terry Jones clips online and came across the scene where he's knighted in Holy Grail. In the comments "Now Sir Bedevere joins King Arthur in his search for the Holy Grail." RIP Terry and Graham.

Without Williams pressure, the ND - Miami game might have ended differently.

Mike Brey and Adrian Dantley were two of his players.

He won 5 mythical NC's in his career. If we'd have lost one less game in 83-84, he'd have won one less NC.
