His spot from Monday night for the people that didn't see it. Gives you the chills reading it now.

"Every man's heart one day beats its final beat, his lungs breath their final breath. And if what that man did in his life, makes the blood pulse through the body of others, and makes them believe deeper in something larger than life, then his essence, his spirit, will be immortalized by the storytellers, by the loyalty, by the memory, of those who honor him and make whatever the man did live forever."

Wow....I thought this was going to be a joke at first. Just 24 hours ago we were watching his return to RAW after almost 20 years. I wonder if all the excitement from the weekend was bad for his health. Possibly a situation like Eddie Guerrero where PEDs in the 90s gave him an enlarged heart that leads to acute heart failure, who knows. Used to love his crazy ranks, promos, and his short but energetic matches. He could never carry a match on his wrestling alone, but damn if he wasn't entertaining all the same.

RIP Warrior Helwig

Some of my favorite Warrior promos. This one is short, but sweet as he makes a grand entrance of sorts after Legion of Doom members Hawk and Animal state their case:

From Crawfordsville, IN. My kids loved watching him. I can remember the rumors years ago on how he had died.

Really sad. Glad he got to be inducted into HoF and give final speech on Raw. Really becomes a poignant goodbye now. Loved watching the Warrior wen I was a kid.

NFW! Just watched that dude. So sad. I'll never forget watching him press Hulk Hogan, all 300 lbs of him, over his head.

My favorite wrestler when I was a kid. Wrestle Mania 4 I believe was the epic match between him and Hogan.

I think it was WM 6. Either way, probably my all time favorite match. I was so in awe as a kid watching that.

The Summmer Slam Ladder Match between Rock and HHH when they were both coming up... I loved that one.

but yeah, as a kid, that WM match seemed as big as a damn Super Bowl.

To this day I still say the best match I ever saw in my life was the WM 10 ladder match between Razor Ramon and Shawn Michaels!

Best match I've ever seen: Angle/Benoit in a cage on Raw

Yeah, it was WM XI. It's crazy to think that Warrior basically hit his peak at the time of that match, and it was basically downhill from there. Within a year he makes contract demands of McMahon, bad blood ensues, and he gets released. That led to two stints in WCW, and a short comeback to the WWF, but none of those stints came close to his WM VI moment. When you think flashes in the pan, Warrior definitely fit that bill, but damn if he didn't make his mark in that short time.

The Summmer Slam Ladder Match between Rock and HHH when they were both coming up... I loved that one.

Great match, but still can't hold a candle to the Razor Ramon & HBK Ladder Matches. Those were classics and set the bar for all Ladder Matches to come. Rock, for all his charisma, can't really wrestle a great match. Whenever I think of his career, the only matches I can remember are the gimmicky ones like the "I Quit" match with Foley. If there was one match that stood out it was the match with Hogan at XVIII, but the match itself wasn't that great, it just happened to have a crazy Toronto Skydome crowd that the Rock and Hogan played up to the entire match.

I think if there was a match of the Rock's that would have been memorable on it's own weight, it would have been against HBK. When the Rock inducted his family into the Hall of Fame, he said HBK is one of the guys he always wanted to wrestle and never got to. HBK could get a good match out of just about anyone. He was a lot like Ricky Steamboat. Steamboat said he never based his career on wins and losses, but whether or not he delivered a great performance for the fans. At least for the 2nd half of HBK's career, that was also true. Rock vs. HBK probably would have been a great match.

That match was on RAW. Think about that for a minute, not summer slam, not Wrestlemania, just a regular old RAW had that amazing match.

This was always one of my favorite matches. It wasn't the best match HBK had after coming out of retirement, but it was the first match coming back. I never watched his matches much before retirement, and I kind of saw him in a new light after this. Supposedly he just went out and performed this with rust and all and delivered a great match with HHH. He had some great matches later with Jericho, Shelton Benjamin, Angle, Undertaker, and even an entertaining Wrestlemania match with McMahon where he just beat the crap out of him for about 25 minutes...but this one is probably still my favorite:

Well since we've strayed a little away from the Ultimate Warrior, a little story from my youth. when I was around 8 years old, my best friend's dad loved to go watch wrestling. He'd take us along all the time. I got to see Dick the Bruiser, Haystack Calhoun, The Sheik, Bobo Brazil, all the big ones from that time period. Matches were broadcast locally on Friday and Saturday nights.

Fast forward to when I was 16 or 17. My friends and I are talking about wrestling. They keep saying it's fake and boring. I tell them it is fake, but pretty fun to watch. I convince then to go to one night. We have seats on the floor about 20 rows away from the ring. There's a guy in front of us who all night long kept telling us how much he hated Black Jack Lanza and was going to punch him out. We're laughing at this guy, because he won't stop. Well Black Jack's match was the last preliminary match before the main event. The match is over and Black Jack is walking down the aisle towards the locker room. The guy in front of us turns around and says, "watch this". He jumps a row of chairs, runs to the aisle and as soon as Black Jack got to him the guy calls out Black Jack's name and proceeds to land one right on his face. Black Jack was so big, he barely flinched. The cops grabbed the guy and hauled him out. We're laughing our asses off and my friends admitted that while it's all fake, it was pretty entertaining.

Ha, actually, your story reminds me of a dark match I saw about 10 years ago in Cincinnati. It was after RAW finished filming, and it was when right after Orton split off from Evolution I think. HBK was tag teaming with Orton against HHH and Flair, and it was one of the funniest matches I ever saw. It was incredibly fake, but so entertaining. Even before the match began HHH was on the microphone talking trash to individuals in the crowd, making fun of them. A lot of it was kind of offensive, but it was funny. I remember he picked a fight with a little kid in the front row, and then somehow the kid wound up on the other side of the barrier and HHH was chasing him around the ring with HBK helping him escape. Someone about this giant HHH chasing a little kid and picking a fight with him was just hilarious. This was all before the match started.

The match itself was great too. There was one point where Flair and HHH were both in the ring, Orton popped them both at the same time, and them both face planted Ric Flair style. At another point Orton was down on his back and HHH climbed to the top rope, which rarely happens. As HHH is jumping down to deliver an attack, Orton lifts his foot at the last second and it clocks HHH in the jaw. HHH then stood there, dazed, for over half a minute, no exageration. He swayed back and forth during this time, while Michaels was in the corner trying to blow him over. Finally HHH shakes the cobwebs out, goes to take a step forward, and promptly face plants again. Huge roar from the crowd, it was hilarious.

There was plenty of other stuff too, but thats what I can remember. I would have to say that was actually my favorite match ever. They just did a bunch of stuff that you would never see them do on TV because they don't have the time to do it.

You shut your whore mouth....

Ha, you're only upset because you know it's true. I love the Rock, don't get me wrong. He's easily one of the top 5 most charismatic guys to ever step into the ring. Hell, he could be #1. He's just never been, and never will be, a great technical wrestler. If the Rock wasn't golden on the mic, he would have never made it in the business. The fact is that he was electrifying when he spoke, and no one cared when he wrestled average matches.

Disagree, but there certainly are a lot fewer today than there were 20 years ago. It's more "Sports Entertainment" now. As far as the last 20 years, Jericho, Hart, Michaels, Flair, Jake the Snake, Rey Mysterio, Million Dollar Man, Arn Anderson, probably anyone from the Guerrero family, and Curt Hennig were all great technical wrestlers, I could name more probably. Some of those guys like HBK and Mysterio are better known for their high flying attacks, but they're sound technical wrestlers too. I would argue guys like Shelton Benjamin with the amateur wrestling background also have put on some good matches, but you don't see them pull it out much because of the way the business has involved into less holds and more striking.

The Ultimate Warrior Was An Insane Dick

I know people will probably get upset at the headline, but I thought this was interesting. I didn't really know that much about the guy (I always got him confused with the Macho Man).

Also, the best match I ever saw was any match where Goldberg speared a guy and ended him in like 30 seconds. I haven't watched wrestling since 8th grade, but even then the matches were annoying. I just liked all the plot stuff and the hot chicks that followed the wrestlers around.
