I just saw this!!! It's a sad, sad day. We have lost a true American hero today. An extra prayer will be said at church this morning.

RIP.....And there are people that are using this as a political platform and saying it's "karma".

Do those a$$holes realize that by killing those 150 bad guys he saved 100's of American lives?

He was a hero. And I'm thankful that there are guys like that protecting my freedoms.

A recent report noted that Kyle and another man took the alledged shooter who suffers from PTSD to the range for therapy.

I just read that too. Apparently a 25 year old kid that served in Iraq and Afghanistan..

"The first time, you're not even sure you can do it," he said. "But I'm not over there looking at these people as people. I'm not wondering if he has a family. I'm just trying to keep my guys safe. Every time I kill someone, he can't plant an IED. You don't think twice about it."

Maybe every person he ever killed was a bad guy, but the fact that he removed their humanity is disgusting.

What kind of therapy for PTSD taking a guy to a shooting range? Doesn't seem too smart to put a gun in someone's hands who is having trouble re-adapting to society after combat action. Not trying to say anything offensive about Kyle and it is sad that someone who has served with distinction had to go this way, but I really don't get what he was thinking.

You mean it's disgusting to you, not everyone. You're entitled to your opinion.

How else could he do his job? I certainly wouldn't be able to pull the trigger if I thought about them as humans with their own lives.

But it's unfortunately a job that has to be done. I credit him for being the one who stepped up to do it.

Well, I don't think the job has to be done and I don't think there is that large of a jump between the removing of humanity that Chris Kyle was doing and the removing of humanity that the Nazis did to the Jews or that Zionists are now doing to the Palestinians. In all cases it was/is justified for some greater good.

I think I've neg repped someone twice in all my years on this site until today... Some people should be forced to go and fight foreign themselves before using their freedom of speech to compare the very people that afford them such rights to Nazis... I don't think I have ever seen a more inappropriate post on this site.

I think the differences are so many its hard to pick one. Sometimes folks dehumanize themselves based on their sheer barbarism...there is nothing comparable between the people Chris killed and Jewish Society against whom the Nazis attacked. To suggest as much is a stroll down moral relativism road...don't do that.

He was killing American enemies, not trying to exterminate an entire race of people. You're entitled to your stupid ****ing opinion but please keep it out of a thread meant to memorialize a fallen American hero.

Btw, if you had been an Iraqi citizen and criticized their military actions you would have been killed.

Would you have preferred he let those guys kill American soldiers? What a steaming pile of liberal, tree hugging, hippy bull$hit.

All of these responses are much nicer and more cordial than mine is, so I'm going to keep it to myself.

The man was a hero and saved countless lives. May he rest in peace.

This is some serious moral relativism, buddy. Killing armed Al Qaida members is not the same as killing Aunt Sophie from Warsaw. I suggest you go unpack this and understand that there is difference between a guy pushing an old lady out of the way of a bus, and a guy pushing an old lady into the path of a bus. They are not both just pushing old ladies around.

ACamp told me that the US is a nation of good so comparing us to the Nazis who put women and children in ovens is ludicrous. I don't think there is a clear distinction between the good and the bad guys. When it comes down to it, killing someone is killing someone. I certainly wouldn't want to be put in an oven or shot without knowing my time was up, but I think I would rather know I was going to die so I could have a final thought vs. not.

Also the point of killing women and children, we do that. I think the numbers are that 1 in 4 people killed by drones are civilians. These numbers are probably low since all males 16? or older are considered combatants unless it can be proved otherwise after they're already dead.

This man wasn't a drone. He had a target in his bullseye and pulled the trigger. Are you telling us he was shooting unarmed women and children?

No nation is perfect but anyone who thinks this isn't a nation of good can go spend some time in Somalia and get back to us... We do not nor ever have knowingly, actively and wantingly killed women and children just do so, or advocated genocide... Is the cop who guns down a child murderer in a gun battle as bad as the murderer?? Apparently so...

If Karma does play a role in things Aves is due to get pretty hard, ill just say that. The disrespect thrown at the death national hero is disturbing.

If you go to war, no matter which side, you have to mentally prepare yourself knowing you may die at any minute. Even if you are not in war, you could go get T-Boned by a semi without a thought.

I guess since the both served that was a common bond he could use to hopefully get thru to the guy.

God Speed Chris.
