Somebody just this past week on one of the podcasts said that the interview with Sean Lewis didn't go very far because Freeman thought he passes too much.
Which is true. He was with Dino Babers at EIU, BGSU and Syracuse. That's the offense. Babers was on the Briles staff at Baylor. It's where the offense came from.

There is a possibility they go 0-4 to end their season.

Even if they finish 6-6, it's not a great season considering all the hype. But, it's great in the context of going from 1-11 to bowl eligible with a first-year P5 coach.

I anticipate a good chance they finish 5-7 and be selected for a bowl game due to the typical lack of 6 win teams and the draw power they represent.

Is the product worth the hype? No. At best the team is currently mediocre with some star talent.

What I also expect is improvement next year as the freshmen class brings in more blue chip talent and the upperclassmen have a chance to learn the system.

They currently have the #66 ranked class in the country (13th in the Big 12). Nine commits. Two four-stars.
Maybe Deion's a late-in-the-cycle recruiting type of guy but I'd have thought he'd be doing better than that.

Yeah no joke. Why waste your time with guys who need development. Colorado will probably go from from 80 new players this year to 50 or so. Just tell the bottom end of your roster to hit the road (again, in many cases).

This is horseshit and the NCAA has already lost in court so they have given up regulating this. The University needs to step in but they aren't. I think they know Deon will take his act to a place where its easier to win so they'll just let things go for a year or two.

I could easily see Deon moving on once the cowboy hat and glitter isn’t working. The bar was tremendously low this year and he instituted a radical approach to change expectations. It has surpassed everyone’s standards.

You also have to factor in that it seems people have adapted to his program’s approach to game planning. I would anticipate next year will show marginal improvement and he will jump at a new opportunity sensing he’s peaked there.

Maybe a team like UCLA that can appreciate his showtime fluff and glitz while allowing him to remain in a warmer climate.

You can maybe run off guys once, but the kids who transferred in, he's pretty much stuck with until they graduate, isn't he?

Not really. He can process them out and they can go play FCS straight away

" ... have a chance to learn the system ..." do we think that this team HAS a "system?"
I really don't have anything against Sanders as an entertainer. He's good at it, and marginally likable.
But I hate the idea that big time football can be managed by just showing up, blowing hype, and.
essentially either buying talent or faking it into joining up. Old School says: it's hard. Do the work.
I don't like myself for this, but I feel better each time this team blows it. ... sorry, Lord.

Deion is a legit HC. He hired a very good staff. He knows about hard work.

Your post seems like you actually have issues with Coach Prime despite stating otherwise. He can both be show time and disciplined and hard working and that is what threatens people.

UCLA isn't going fire Chip Kelly for someone who hasn't shown any ability to coach
I was more thinking Chip would be moving on. Solid last two years and I expect he will win double digits this year. Take a payday when coaching carousel warms up in December. Maybe the next HC of A&M or Michigan. Sorry, I couldn’t help myself. Makes me laugh to even suggest that.

For as much as he talks about how Old School he is, I don't know how much of that resonates with the players today. Especially throwing players under the bus publicly in press conferences. Talking about how they need new O Linemen.

He's had a hell of a first year and a lot of it is of his own making, both the good and bad. People like Danny Kanell are going to make a living off of enjoying Colorado losses on social media.
