nebraska fans always drive up prices. It's not just Sanders, but an old Big 12 rivalry.

I’m shocked they’re twice as pricey as Bama/UT

Prime is playing into the history of this rivalry and using that as the motivational tactic for the week. Already drilling into the heads of his "mercenary roster" that if CU fans want to win any game on their schedule, it's this one.

Should be good stuff.

I’ve got to ask a dumb question/s about Prime. Who is he? What did he do as a player? I guess i could google him. Didn’t he play NFL and MLB? Is that what is impressive about him? What else? Haha.

Okay, either you're 16 or lived under a rock in the 90s

Bit unfair there. Effectively stopped playing high level baseball in 1997 (26 years ago) and last was a consistent starter in the NFL in 2000 (23 years ago). i have cousins that have graduated college that only know Prime Time for his analyst and coaching roles and don't grasp the impact he had.

With that being said, the lad should have googled him and searched for his youtube reels.

There is a 30 for 30 on Deion that you should watch. Also plenty of videos on YouTube. But yeah, Deion was amazing during his best years. Good baseball player and superstar football player. Played both sports simultaneously a couple of years. He is in the NFL Hall of Fame. His punt return ability was out of this world and he was just an incredible cover corner. Spend some time going down the Deion rabbit hole on YouTube - you won’t be sorry.

I don’t even think YouTube does Prime justice. He was electric to watch in the 90s, especially compared with the players of the 90s and how the game was played being a running/boring-ish game compared to now. Prime would be great today but he was before his time when it comes to flashy play. He would blend in more today than back then thus being less impactful… in my opinion.

Back in the day I had the white, black, and red Deion’s with the strap over the top. Jordan, Deion, and Bo had the dope kicks in the 90s.

Sanders was a very big, ultra-fast CB, who could stick like glue to pretty much every wide out. He was also the heir to the Bo Jackson mantle as a serious, high-level, 2 sport athlete.

He was basically a first round WR who decided to play corner. No one threw his direction and when they did it was almost always a big mistake. If anyone caught the ball, it was usually him. When he got a hold of the ball he was electric and would return interception for big yards. I can recall other DBs on his team intercepting the ball and literally running to Deon to get the ball in his hands. They were coached to do it. Sanders also played WR occasionally and was good.

Only knock was that he was NOT a big hitter and would often throw guys down or push them out of bounds instead of tackling. He had a reputation for being a bit soft. He probably had a couple of big hits in his career, but that was not his game.

He also was cocky as hell, was a huge self-promoter, and became a pop-culture icon based on his dips into the music world and his friends, like MC Hammer. He was always covered in bling and women and talking, talking, talking. In a time when men were still allowed to think that behavior was petty, a distraction, and a bad influence, he was the face of it for a while. In that sense, he was a precursor to the current era. He helped set the stage. He would have been a social media/NIL juggernaut.

His nicknames were Neon Deon and Prime Time, not sure when people starting calling him Prime all the time.

Kinda wish he went by Coach Neon. That'd be cooler.

But yeah, it's wild how big Bo Jackson, and then Deion Sanders, were for a while there in the late 80s/early 90s. Now it seems like they barely let middle-school-aged kids play two sports anymore. Let alone elite pros.

Ya'll don't forget to read up on Prime Prep Academy, too... I love Deion the coach/disruptor now that he's in a framework that won't leave his athletes totally helpless if things don't work out.

But Prime Prep was a masterclass in ego, clout-chasing, and ultimately failing to take care of a bunch of kids. I'd like to think he learned from it, and that has been part of his mission since taking the Jackson State job... but idk. Prime Prep was gross stuff.

The tackling bit still fascinates me to this day. This was a guy who when in the prime of his career took away an entire side of the field from the opposition because they wouldn't look to throw in his direction.

His response to this criticism is still classic Deion: "I've got a gold jacket that I didn't pay for."

Bryce Underwood is going to visit Colorado. That would be huge for the program.
He is going to get more recruits. There are lots of 2025 recruits that are interested in Colorado. He will start getting Top 20 classes and using the Portal get the program consistently in the Top 25 and then go to a major school that has Natty history at some point (more so than CU).

Auburn should have taken Coach Prime. That was a mistake. Who knows if BK blows out at LSU this year and next, he could be going to LSU or Florida..... I gather Norvell at FSU is safe.

I am sure there are schools that aren’t even needing a coach that might kick the tires to just upgraded to Deion, like LSU, USC even if Lincoln chokes, Florida, and even FSU if he hasn’t burned that bridge.

Yeah, it obviously didn't keep him from being incredibly effective. But football football is a violent sport so I think it is notable that an all-time great defender lacked violence in his game.

The Buffs have played one game against a team that lost a ton of players from last year and was over ranked and now he's on his way to a NATTY and a premier job? This all could very well happen, but let's let the chili simmer some before we taste it.
