Was Jackson the fastest NFL Player ever? This caught me by surprise. Or is this just a myth: Jackson had a sub 4.20 time on the 40.

Bo was just stupid fast in the 40, but that 4.12 time is almost certainly not legit... even he says so. It was hand timed, and there's too much room for error with that method.

I mean yeah it's really sad but it's not exactly a secret that HBCU's are absolutely plagued by administrative incompetence and malfeasance. Here's a story from just this year at Howard, which is generally regarded as the absolute elite of HBCU's a long ways away from the tragically underserved Jackson State...

"Last week, an anonymous whistleblower alleged that university employees misdirected nearly $1 million in financial aid grants. Frederick later confirmed that funds had been misappropriated, though he did not specify exactly how much money was involved.

Frederick said in a statement that the university had been actively investigating the issue for more than a year and that six employees had been terminated "for gross misconduct and neglect of duties."

So a million stolen and six employees terminated for gross misconduct at the flagship HBCU. Wouldn't shock me if things are even worse at JSU.

I watched his intro to the team. And maybe it's just me. But not only did I think he came across to his players like harsh. He gave a "these aren't my players" BK vibe. And how he talked down about the culture and in someways the school.

Honestly, I don't know. Does this guy actually do any coaching?

And I can see why kids would be enamored with him but why are all of these coaches just dropping their fishing nets to follow him like he was the Messiah or something?

Hitching their wagon assuming it’s payday soon,… I thought on this a couple days ago. Had I stayed in coaching and made it to that level I’d LOVE to jump on with Colorado right now

Colorado already doesn’t know where they are going to get the money to pay his promised salary. They may not have the money to pay what was owed to prior coaches. Colorado was never a bag school pre nil or known for deep pocket boosters. Is aflac gonna open the ducks ass and shoot golden mist to pay all this “nil” pay for play?

It's a bad time to take out a loan with these fed rate hikes too...

To be clear I’m not saying a pay day is coming for coaches now,… I’m saying the exposure and the heavy odds that they’ll at least improve will lead to a lot of future promotions outside CU

He didn’t say anything that was out of line for a coach inheriting a terrible team. My problem is he seemed more interested in putting on a show for the cameras. There’s some things that need to stay private, don’t air your dirty laundry.

It wasn’t a vibe. He straight up said it. He’s going to run off 50%+ of that roster and if you’re a player how can you even object? They were 1-11 and somehow even worse than that record indicates.

A lot of shitty teams have new coaches. Yet Colorado has all the attention and media buzz. Interesting times. The man knows how to play the game.

I think he will turn around Colorado pretty quickly, especially in this environment of recruiting and free transfers.

He can also recruit well. If he could get a #1 rated 5 star player to come to Jackson State, he will be getting way more high calibre players at Colorado.

Colorado will likely be in the 12 team playoffs every year for the foreseeable future.

That last line has got to be the hot take of the year. He will never sniff the playoffs at Colorado.

Playoffs every year to never sniff. Tough to know which pole to run to there. I'd think a PAC 12 without the two LA schools will be easier to navigate from a football perspective.

The Sean Lewis hire is pretty big. Lewis was an HC at a MAC school where it was tough to win and there were not a lot of resources. Now Lewis gets to call plays behind the scenes and not be the face of it because he's the guy behind Deion. Sean Lewis took a major step up from Kent State here and he's a very good offensive mind.

Evidently Deion was recruiting Dylan Edwards to Jackson State and keeping in touch. Once the move to a P5 was done it was all set in motion pretty fast.

Why not? Pac-12 is a joke at this point with USC and UCLA joining the Big 10. Prime is already signing blue chip recruits this cycle after only being the coach for a little over a week.

Also, the playoffs are expanding to 12. It doesn’t seem impossible for them to be there by YR 3. That’s assuming he sticks around that long, which he may not.

Because he can't out talent the PAC 12 immediately? And when he isn't great after his first year, his message gets a little stale and he sounds more like a televangelist. Then when he can't stockpile talent, he has to out-scheme other coaches and I'm not sold on him being a talented coach.

He is a personality.

This is what I'm interested to see. Can he actually coach. He recruited at a level at Jackson St. where the other schools couldn't keep up. Now he has to recruit to catch up to the talent the big boys have. They'll only win if he can actually coach.

I think you give the PAC 12 way too much credit. The talent level in this conference is pretty average excluding Oregon and SC, one of which will no longer be in the conference. That said, you don't win the SWAC back-to-back on talent alone. Some amount of good coaching is required.

No idea how much truth there is to this but we have seen some of these names already confirmed. This is a pretty solid staff. He keeps Darian Hagan, RB coach and former CU player, brings in Sean Lewis and Charles Kelly as his top guys. Tim Brewster coaching TE, Willie Taggart in a support role along with Mike Zimmer and Dennis Thurman.
