Yes. Thank God for TJ Jones. It's like everything Daniels does Jones can do better. A lot better. Frustrating to watch a guy as talented as Daniels to be so sloppy.

But like you said, this is a tough, resilient football team and they showed that tonight. That's really all you can ask for (OK, maybe you can ask for better safeties. But Redfield will have his day eventually.) Huge win. If our defense plays like that against USC, we should still be at two losses going into Stanford.

I think Daniels is every bit as talented, physically, as TJ. It just seems like the difference is that TJ and Tommy appear to be on the same page, on routes and throws. If DD and Tommy could develop the same, both of those guys(Jones and Daniels) would be making noise for All-American.

Agreed. He's either lazy, unprepared, or just doesn't care enough.

Defensive line was much much better tonight obviously.

Our safeties are just pathetic.

Tommy was just, well, Tommy. You aren't really going to get anything different from him.

I am ready for Corey and Will to get more routes. Chris Brown has been very disappointing this year and Davaris just loses interest on a lot of plays.

Yo, we have a winner. We played a stable of RBs allowing one to take the reigns as the starter. I'm all for doing the same with our WRs. TJ has shown how great he is, now its time someone else steps up with him.

Someone must have stolen Prince's bike seat.

Chris Brown, where you at? Although he was open a couple of times and Tommy made poor throws.

Loved the win big response to are loss last week. But for the life of me had no idea why we were throwing when tommy gave up the pick six.

I mean, he was 17/38 which is really bad, and ASU does not have a good defense.

Very few screens/slip screens tonight, which tend to pad the completion percentage. Also smart throwaways. The guy is what he is. Our offense can't rely on Rees hitting downfield passes.

- TJ Jones and Cam McDaniel played hard and well

- Farley is too slow to play safety

- Carlo and Fox stepped it up in Grace's absence

- DD was unimpressive.

- Brindza. What a leg, lol.

- Tommy was pretty bad. He's really starting to show his limits. The one thing he should be able to do is manage the clock and the offense, but he was the reason for a number of penalties.

- Nick Martin. Come on, man.

- Run defense was amazing all night.

- Jaylon Smith and Shembo. Wow. Tuitt also was a monster in the 2nd half.

- Jerseys looked awesome. Well done ND!

- We won!

- **** Michigan

- **** USC.

I think Daniels is more talented, physically, than TJ. But TJ's locked in mentally in a way Daniels doesn't seem to be. Now, you could have said the same thing about TJ in 2011. So there's certainly hope for Daniels yet. I just wish we had both of them on the same page as our QB. It would help our passing game considerably.

* Tommy Rees is 40/96 over the last three games. Good God. Give him credit for some great throws (that last drive of the first half was niiiiice), but he is so damn inconsistent.

* Cam McDaniel played a great game and George Atkinson III continues to run harder. Could've done without his dancing, though. Led to some huge losses.

* Amir CarLLLYYYle

* TJ Jones had a tremendous game. His best of the season, IMO, and one of the better ones of his career.

* Daniels is inconsistent. He has the talent to be an elite receiver, but he hasn't put it all together yet.

* Hercules had a strong game, probably the best of his career to this point.

* Offensive line did a good job. Lots of pressure, but no sacks. Decent run blocking. I like it.

* Nix had a great game.

* Tuitt had a tremendous second half. Hopefully he builds on this performance.

* Shembo FINALLY did something, and boy was it something. GREAT second half.

* Jaylon Smith is going to be a superstar. He was everywhere tonight.

* Matthias Farley is terrible.

* The secondary as a whole just looks lost at times.

* Losing Grace could hurt.

* GREAT win.

I think DD could be easily a top 3-5 WR in CFB. He just doesn't have a connection with Rees and seems to lose interest at times. There are plays he just doesn't seem to 'bring it.' His ceiling is greater than TJ, but TJ is by far our best WR.

What stuck out to me tonight is that Jaylon Smith is the real deal and going to be a big time player for us. I hope we get 4 years out of him! He is fast and he tackles as well as anyone on the team. Prince Shembo had his best game ever, I believe. Tuitt still looked slow at times but he had some good moments. Nix is the best DT in the country without a doubt. TJ continues to be my favorite offensive player but how about those TE's? The only things I didn't like about Rees were the pick six (obviously) and how he has to audible every single play. It makes getting the ball off quickly a major issue and slows the tempo way down. Not to mention the delay of game penalties and the unnecessary timeouts. Cam McDaniel is the man!

I think after that 3rd and 20 conversation Diaco finally realized to not out Ishaq in deep drop zone coverages but, to let him rush the QB. I thought Ishaq had his best game tonight, he pushed the pocket on nearly every play.

Starting to show his limits? Were you around in the second half of 2011? His limits are well established at this point. But if you've got a better QB in your pocket, pull him out now.
I agree he overdid it a few times tonight with the adjustments. But he had a pretty solid game. Any game Tommy doesn't lose for us (i.e. last week) I consider a victory for him.

Another couple of things that I noticed........

Corey Robinson is an outstanding athlete who could end up being something very special.

The offensive line started the game pretty shaky. There were a lot of defenders in the backfield, on the first couple of possessions. But they got it right, and did a fine job the rest of the game, with a few rare exceptions. Congrats to them.

Frustrating win>>>Frustrating loss.

I don't understand why it was frustrating.

South Carolina barely beat unranked Kentucky.
Oklahoma had a rough time with unranked TCU.
Oklahoma State just about lost to unranked Kansas State.
It took Georgia overtime to beat unranked Tennessee.
UCLA had big trouble with unranked Utah.

But unranked Notre Dame beating #22 Arizona State (the 6.5 point favorite) is frustrating?

#3 Jones and Rees are on the same page and play to the whistle. Robby continues to learn but like Jones, he competes to the whistle. Daniels and Brown look to me like they're playing pickup basketball. "You're supposed to throw where I go. Not where I'm supposed to go!"

DD gets uninterested because he realizes his deep routes will either be 10 yards over his head or 10 yards short.

Imagine when Corey fills out and maybe even adds a little speed..he could have a really solid career

It's frustrating because we should have won more easily and won by more. Once kickoff happens it doesn't matter what the other team is ranked or how many games they have won.
