I'm not convinced he gets convicted.
Cops have done worse and walked. This technique also seems to be frequently used by cops and they'll argue he was following his training. Some of those cops with him were fresh rookies. I'll wager that the verdict disappoints people.

I really wonder what their training officially includes. Per a LE buddy of mine, while that technique is somewhat common, it's also specifically called out as a no-no by a lot of departments. Any LEO's on the board that can comment?
I think only one of the guys was a rook, and he was the guy that twice asked if they should let him turn over. His attorney called that out on national TV.... I think the rook gets off with a hand slap, and the other two get something more.
Didnt scroll back but im assuming youre asking if a knee to the neck is common/allowed? Answer is no to both, atleast im my experience. 1. There much more efficient ways to subdue someone fighting with you on the ground, you lose leverage being up so high Not to mention other ways where you dont risk killing someone. Ex. Knee on the center of the back. 2. Unless youre alone and fighting with someone who doesnt want to be cuffed and youre waiting for backup, theres no reason to leave someone on the ground cuffed like that, especially with 4 guys just standing there. Turn him on his butt and sit him against the car/wall/curb especially if he wants medics. If hes kicking, cuff his legs. 3. Ive arrested people with raucous crowds. Worst thing you can do is leave the guy there. You always get the arrestee out of there asap. 4. He looked like he was posing on top of his trophy so all the onlookers to see. Hes a substandard human being.
I’m sure we can all agree that Canada fucking sucks,... I mean hockey is really cool I guess,... now back to the topic at hand.
Fifteen had been suspended. Seven had been involved in fatal shootings. Three had been convicted of crimes. One officer was made sergeant after being disciplined more than two dozen times, the news organizations found. Another had choked a man in custody. Another failed to report a fellow officer who had battered a woman and shot her cat.
In addition, the news organizations revealed that two Elkhart officers had beaten a handcuffed man. The two officers were subsequently charged with federal civil rights violations. Those charges are still pending. The officers have pleaded not guilty.
Entering a consent decree with a state or local governmental entity may be appropriate if
one or more of the following factors is present:
1. The defendant has an established history of recalcitrance or is known to be unlikely to
perform because, for example, the defendant has violated other related administrative
orders, judicial orders, settlement agreements, or consent decrees.
2. The defendant has unlawfully attempted to obstruct the investigation by, for example,
engaging in spoliation.
3. The defendant has engaged in a pattern or practice of deprivations of rights or other
violations of federal law, and other remedies have proven ineffective, such that ensuring
compliance without the ongoing supervision of a court is unrealistic.
4. A consent decree is necessary to secure statutory protection or relief for the defendant, such
as statutory protection against challenges and claims by third parties or statutory relief that
preempts state law.
CRS is the only Federal agency whose purpose is to assist State and local units of government, private and
public organizations, and community groups with preventing and resolving racial and ethnic tensions, conflicts, and civil disorders, and in restoring racial stability
and harmony.
Bluto took the maple pill confirmed,....
Dude, Canada is pretty cool. I met some really good looking ladies when a band I was in played Montreal, Quebec and Trois-Rivières. Everyone was super nice and we actually got paid for the shows. I also learned how to say Kentucky Fried Chicken and several other interesting phrases in French. On a side note I discovered that Canadians have no idea who Black Jacques Chirac is.
Out of all the places I've ever been, Vancouver and Bratislava have the best looking ladies. Eastern Europe on the whole is pretty phenomenal in that sense.

Ukraine. Way more than their share of gorgeous women.
I made my kid watch Strange Brew with me awhile back so he would better appreciate Canadian culture.
I will admit even though I like Canadians I still do not understand how Micheal J Fox became such a huge phenomena.
First he hates baseball them MJF,.... Bluto is dead to me.
Hey, I don’t hate the dude. I’m just like he’s a short, average looking dude from Canada. What gives? As a first generation Mexican American who loved Cheech and Chong and Sanford and Son growing up I found the Keatons to be not very relatable or funny. Shit made no sense to me. His sister on the show was kind of hot I think. Or was it the mom? Lol.

I am white and wasn't a huge fan of Family Ties. Justine Bateman, who played the sister, was cute though. Her brother, Jason, is the popular actor now.
I was a huge Cheech and Chong fan. My Father, God rest his soul, was too. He said they reminded him of all his buddies from Catholic school growing up in East LA. I was also into Sanford & Son, Good Times and Chico and the Man. TV was way better back in my day!

This talk of 80's sitcoms reminded me of one of my favorite SNL skits.
