Being an ‘Alderman’ is like,... still a thing???
Bribes in Chicago have to flow through someone.

An elected person? What am I missing???
Maybe we should get rid of the law enforcement aspect of our society too...

Nah, wrong! They're the top cultural and economic centers where a large portion of the country wants to live!

This is something worth while protesting. This lady is a very sick person.
I understand the point, but I am not sure that one statistic points this to being more about emotion than truth.
When you look at things like education (college degrees), family income, wealth, etc., it would show that the relative metrics today are really no better than what they were 50 years ago. For example, educational attainment. Blacks have risen 19 percentage points since 1964 compared to 26 percentage points for whites.

I could list more, but I think we get the point. Now, I am not saying this is 100% the results of systemic racism. I believe there are many aspects that contribute to these statistics, including things like single parents. But one thing that doesn't get addressed enough IMO is the difference in identity between whites and other races. Whites overwhelmingly do not have their central identity revolve around being white, only about 15% according to Pew. That compares to nearly 75% of African Americans and nearly 60% for Asians and Hispanics. This has an obvious impact to not only how African Americans feel about the situation, but how/why white people have a harder time truly relating to the hardships.
Interesting article from Reuters https://www.reuters.com/article/us-...ose-charged-in-protest-violence-idUSKBN23H06J
Seems like in the initial prosecutions there hasn't been any link to far leftwing extremists.
Its really way to early to draw any information as to whether investigators have found any substantive ties to ANTIFA (or any other organization). Any group targeted by feds would not yield arrests this early, especially in the form of (id assume) violation of statutes relating to organized criminal networks. Theyre probably still in the early stages of identifying people and building the investigative puzzle. That will take months and months to put together before any arrests are made (absent of course any single major crime). The article doesn't really get into details about details of the cases they reviewed. Part of me wonders if theyre just federal offenses because of where they occurred like if they were on federal property, I'm pretty sure they can automatically be federal crimes depending on the location.
I'll defer to you on this subject (IIRC you have law enforcement experience?).
Seems like it's too early to be mudslinging either way, and that posters writing off BLM can calm down.

NY, NJ, and IL are actually among the top 10 states where people leave, and want to leave.
Can we all compromise and Defund the FBI?
Yep, and it isn't close. People aren't fleeing Charlotte for Hoboken, NJ. They aren't fleeing Nashville for Chicago. And they sure as hell aren't fleeing Texas for California.
I should have added Cali to the list too. Collectively they're #3 I think.
