I'm starting to think that the Pokemon are "released" in tiers. Like if I went to a place that is known to have Dragonairs, they wouldn't appear to me as a level 10.

Apparently you have to force stop or even uninstall/re-install once you remove their permissions at your Google permissions page, and even then there have been some cases of the app not working.

Apparently it's only a privacy issue on iOS. So if you've got an iPhone and used your Gmail, it might be best to cut your losses, set up a dummy email, and restart with the new, unused Google account.

I have android, but I may just play it safe and switch to a new PokemonGo game using a dummy Gmail that I set up to use on Clash a while ago.

Nah, that's a server issue I'm pretty sure. It happens to me when I'm sitting three feet from my 150 Mbps router or when I'm on perfectly clean LTE.

Had a moment to add to the sad column. I was trying to catch a Snorlax and had already thrown like 5 pokeballs at it with the Snorlax busting out every time. 6th time I threw, the game did that glitch where it shows the pokeball with the pokemon in it, but never zooms in. Sat there for 5 minutes and quit in disappointment. When I restarted, the Snorlax wasn't in the area anymore.
