That can't be real, right?

How in the hell could Ty sneak into another role within CFB where he doesn't actually do anything.

The man has been duping the cfb world out of millions for years.

The even bigger point... Tyrone being on that board is bad for Notre Dame. He was fired and then never disputed any of the "ND is rascist" talk that went on after.

The ND is racist argument is so weak. Doesn't matter what color he is. He could have been turquoise for all we care.

He was just a bad and lazy coach.

Not really worried. He'll probably miss the decision making process on account of his tee times.

Why are Condoleeza Rice and Archie Manning on the selection panel? Why not have journalists, ADs, and Conference commissioners?

Because they bring non-controversial (for the most part) star power. Not saying that it's right, but you asked why.

Why have ADs and Conference Commissioners? Their bonuses and conference revenue sharing deals make this as corrupt as the Coaches Poll.

It works for the Basketball Selection Committee, so why not football?

I like the inclusion of Condoleezza Rice...Archie and Ty not so much.

Condi has her own football commercial about waking her whole team up at like 3 am in Israel so she could watch Super Bowl. Claims to never having missed watching one.

Not that the story qualifies her but as others have stated she's a solid member.

Not worried about Tyrone either. There is enough differing opinions in there that biases will get called out.

Willingham and the racist BS was put to bed when he took out Old Yeller (UW Huskies) and put that program to sleep.

But seriously.. You take the power from BCS computers and pollsters and put it in the hands of the people holding the money bags. How to move backwards. Geez.

That's a good point - but I'd prefer to have people with football knowledge. After all, it's not like Condoleeza will know very much about the teams other than scores and what the journalists write about them.

If I remember correctly Condoleeza has said she never missed a Super Bowl. She is a huge football fan. Now... how she is on the committee is another thing.

No journalists please. Thank you.

Does anyone know how the teams will be ranked during the season? Will we still have BCS rankings till the end of the season?

AP and Coaches Poll will still exist, but won't count for anything which is status quo for the AP poll. The BCS poll will cease to exist. The BCS is dead. Let us rejoice.

I remember reading that the selection committee will come out with some sort of ranking half way through the season. I don't know if it will be 25 teams, weekly, etc, but they will give the public some indication of where the top teams stand with them during the season.

Thanks. Glory be to the death of the BCS era.

The BCS wasn't perfect, but I can't see the Old Men holding the money bags making any better choices.

Do you have issues with the NCAA BBall Selection Committee? It's the same formula and I rarely hear people complain about that selection process.

You have to admit selecting 4 versus 64 is a bit different, including the vast amounts of money at stake.

This is one of my concerns. These guys are essentially picking the Final Four in the end.

It's not perfect but it will expand to 8 sooner rather than later. The difference between 8-9th best teams getting left out versus the 4-5th is big. Either way it has much better potential than the BCS ever did.

It's definitely different and not an apples to apples comparison, but I'd trust well-educated people over computers any day. Call me naïve, but I just don't think the people serving on the committee will make these decisions with anything but on-field performance in mind. The way the revenue distribution is set up, schools will not receive a huge payout for making the playoffs. Most of the money is already distributed before they select the teams, and, just like the basketball committee, members will sit out on discussions regarding their school.

I think people are under the impression that a truck load of money will go to the schools that are picked and that's not the case.

I don't disagree. I hated the BCS. For CFB I think the top 10 teams are usually capable of handling each other.

I do think the lack of a 13th game is going to hurt us. I know people here think we will be ok but if there was ever a criticism of ND football, that will be it come time to choose.

I know the committee will also look at traveling and revenues and ND has no problems there.

I don't. The real winners in this will be sponsorship money, cities hosting events, etc. There will be people making money off of this and it won't be the schools or conferences.

I am wondering if what we will get will be the "Nokia Samsung Allstate State Farm Championship Game" with the "Dr. Pepper ChikFilet Halftime Throw" and a presentation of the "Nissan Heisman" brought to you by "Budweiser" on "CBS," America's #1 place for television.

I don't know why I would get the impression that Div1a football was all about money.

Haha. I think he is still sore after Clowney sidelined himself for Kentucky game.
