At the office, we are having a weekly pool prior to every round's start. Goal is to score the most upset points. Upset points are calculated by subtracting the lower numeric seed (better team) from the higher numeric team. Round 1 (64 teams/32 games) pick 4 games, Round 2 (32 teams/16 games) pick 2 games. There must be at least 7pts of separation in the first round, 3pts in the second to be considered an upset. Tie breaker goes to the one who picked the biggest upsets (largest seed spread).

Anyone have any educated advice?

So far thinking Davidson 14 over Marquette 3, Cal 12 over UNLV 5, FGCU 15 over Gtwn 2, Oregon 12 of OK St 5.

Feel free to make this an IE game, but everyone needs to keep their own score :) unless it can be automated.

Belmont over Arizona
Minesota over UCLA (if that even still counts)
Davidson over Marquette
Bucknell over Butler (leads to Bucknell v Davidson, Bucknell to the Sweet 16)
South Dakota State over Michigan
Temple over NC State (does 9-8 count?)
St. Mary's over Memphis

Go Big or Go Home.

CAL over UNLV is a nice one....12, and 10 seeds are always dangerous in the first round; I think since the tourney went to 64 teams (65, 66, etc blah) a 10 and/or 12 seed has won at least 1 game in every tournament.

Bold wouldn't meet the seed spread requirement.
I like the way you think about AZ. Thought they were going to churn and burn earlier this year, but they've been crazy up and down. Bucknell is good, but think Butler will turn on the NCAA experience factor.

I have La Salle over Kansas State and may put Saint Mary's over Memphis after tonight.

I think KSt will handle it's business. St. Mary's was 5 on my list right below the cut line. Gave the slight edge to FGCU given their coach, the way they played Miami, and the buzz about them (this years potential slipper owner). Plus it's my wild hair gut pick.

I took all the bolded ones.

Also, Minnesota over UCLA and Colorado over Illinois. I know those don't meet your 7 seed spread, but they are close and I like em.

Minnesota is favored over UCLA in vegas

I have Arizona going deep. No faith in the bottom half of that region.

It wouldn't qualify in this contest, but I have St Mary's over Memphis in my pool.

I like Oklahoma State and think they'll win (Smart is the real deal), but Oregon as a 12 seed is utterly ridiculous. That game should be very good.

I also like Cal over UNLV and don't trust St. Louis vs. New Mexico State.

I didn't pick a whole lot of upsets this year which seems like a mistake because there is so much parody in CBB. I picked Oregon, Minnesota, ISU, Bucknell. I'm sure there will be a 13 and 14 seed that will win, but I didn't go that route this year.

If it wasn't for Lousiville SLU would be a Final Four team, I guarantee it

Parody, you want Parody. You can't handle the Parody this year. LOL. Neither can I. I can see so many teams making it to the final four this year. VCU, Butler, etc., from recent years, are only a tip of the iceberg to come IMO. Love me some NCAA BB.
