Well it looks like the odds makers think that we may (or may not) win one of our four toughest games (Mich, OU, USC, and Stanford). Losing Golson probably figures into this. I'm still bullish on 10 wins...but I also used to think Ty would "coach-up" all of those two star recruits.

The fact that the under is -130 along with the o/u being 8 1/2 blows my mind.

8.5 would be one thing with Golson. With Tommy and mostly new RB's, will we be able to put points on the board?

I'm prepared for a lot of games resembling the BYU game last year. 17-14, 21-16ish...... We will get 9 or more wins but its gonna be real frustrating

If the D does what we expect them to do and if we can play with a lead for the most part I think 10 wins is the number. I think it ALL comes down to whether our O-line can dominate (give Tommy time and open holes for our new RBs).

Here are the Quarterbacks we face this year:

Temple: Connor Rielly
Michigan: Devin Gardner
Purdue: Rob Henry OR Danny Etling OR Austin Appleby
Michigan St: Andrew Maxwell
Oklahoma: Blake Bell OR Kendall Thompson OR Trevor Knight
Arizona St: Taylor Kelly
USC: Max Wittek OR Cody Kessler OR Max Browne
Air Force: Kale Pearson
Navy: Keenan Reynolds
Pittsburgh: Tom Savage
BYU: Taysom Hill
Stanford: Kevin Hogan

Not exactly murderers row. Devin Gardner is probably the best we will face followed by Kevin Hogan. Our DBs will still be our weakness (even though IMO they will be much improved) so this plays very well in our favor. No team will be able to run on us with our front 7*. I expect similar defensive numbers to last year.

*Excluding Alabama

Gardner (UM), Kelly (ASU) and Hogan (Stanford) make me nervous. The other nine QBs will need a stellar performance from their OL/running game and their defense to beat us.

Screw Gardner.

Is anyone in Vegas? Will you lay the deed to my future house for me on the ND over? Thanks.

Those three make me nervous also. All three have legitimate defenses or big time players on defense at least that can stymie our offense, so the QB doesn't need to be stellar to make it a game. For that same reason I'm going to keep an eye on Bell's progress too. He may not have the arm that his predecessor had, but he's a running threat and his defense isn't completely shabby.

USC still scares me regardless who their QB ends up being. At the end of the day, even with Kiffin at the helm, they're still USC and I expect a close game...especially given the fact we blow it at home with them. They've still got Lee and a decent stable of backs too. They'll do well on offense unless their weak O-Line depth catches up with them.
