Herd: Notre Dame Ok, Not Great - ESPN Video - ESPN

Unreal how stupid (or intentionally stupid to incite people and get attention...) this guy is. Talks about how Notre Dame doesn't play many bowl teams at one point in this video... even though we played, what? 10 or 11 bowl eligible teams last year?

Don't even bother wasting your time listening to the guy. I heard him say something last week that he was praising us and saying we are gonna have a good year. Now, I was NOT watching/listening on purpose because the guy is just.........well he's a DOUCHE!

Every time we link his articles or videos here, we are doing him a favor. He only does it for the hits, because you can't be as aloof as this clown.

I'm not blaming you for posting it or anything Lax, just saying that he does it for shock value and exposure.

I listened to his drivel earlier this morning after Crist got named the starter. I chucked a few times at how he skews information as you said to incite reaction.

I have hated this guy with everything in me since I first heard him. That fact that he has his own show on the radio is a joke.

LSU has nine bowl teams on their schedule. How many did ND have last year?

What he also failed to mention about LSU's schedule, were the cupcake games sprinkled in between their big games.

Does Notre Dame play an SEC-like schedule? No. Im not being unrealistic or blinded by my allegiance, but to say they have the easiest schedule is a ****ing joke.

Cant stand the dude!

He picks bowl game opponents for his stat and then doesn't mention all of ND's opponents who made bowl games last year. I can't believe he has his own show with no ability to conduct research and analysis in an unbiased manner.

I loved that 2 videos above was ed cunningham talking about the schedule being tough.

Cowherd sucks! He even admits being a ND critic for 20 years...

IDK what you guys are wanting to hear.

He said LSU schedule is better. It is.

He said Kelly is a great coach and recruits his tail off. He does.

He said ND will win 9 or 10 game.

Relax fellas, he's not out to upset ya.

Agree with mgriff. The only appropriate reaction to Cowherd is apathy. Anything else and the hack wins.

I absolutely HATE Cowherd!!!.........

However. That was the best analysis I have seen about ND in a while.
The only thing he messed up,which we can all agree on, was at the 3:00 mark when he talked about bowl teams we play.We all know that was way off.

But...what he said about our past recruiting was right on par.We have had very overrated recruiting classes under Weis,Willingham and Davie....yes we got some very good players like Te'o....but most of those kids never panned out(although yes, the argument that they were not developed due to poor coaching is a very relevant argument.)
He was also right on about Kelly.Which is nice.Maybe this might start changing his and ESPN's collective mind about out great university.

I'm PROUD to be a sidwalk alum! lol.

Cowherd has talked crap about ND for years. He's a cheer boy for USC. He thinks Pete Carroll walks on water - which he has done on occasion when he cheats.

Don't get me wrong, 80% of that thing was fine. Him picking LSU (which is basically the only SEC team besides Florda and Georgia that plays someone of consequence out of conference) and listing only their tough games and none of their joke teams... and then basically lying and saying that ND only plays 3/4 bowl teams is sad. Sad because he's either too stupid to realize how tough our schedule was last year + how hard it will be this year OR he's doing it intentionally to get a reaction. Both of those just make me /facepalm.

This clown never sticks to a decision, he corrects himself frequently and flat out dosn't research. perfect case in example last year he was riding the Mark Sanchez express and the Michael Vick bandwagon, a stat nerd in his office showed him Sanchez only completed 59% of passes and Vick has a 3-1 TD to INT ratio now there both scum in his eyes [Last year he had Sanchez as superbowl MVP mind you] he lives his life with his head in his bum. LSU better pray that Jefferson is under center for them and that the stars align just right because there are alot of teams out side of the SEC looking to compete this year that look pretty darn good and there deffinetly in the hunt but is a thin line there walkin there by no means a shoe in

I love LSU's team, but the QB position is critical, as we all know. Stacked everywhere but the most important position in the modern game. I expect their defense to win them plenty, but they won't reach their ceiling unless a QB steps up. That QB, almost certainly, won't be Jordan Jefferson.

I keep going to ND boards and hearing how much they hate Cowherd. So why listen? The only time i hear what he says is on ND boards.

I really like LSU's roster as well. Too bad "The Hat" will cost them 2 games because of bad coaching.

I was a huge listener of this guy... but it is SO freakin clear what he and ESPN do from a marketing standpoint... they pump up what they have heavy investments in... SEC, NBA, NFL, CFB.... hell they are even talking good about soccer now... remember four years ago??? Well now they have a multi-million dollar contract with MLS and Barclays... things change...

but they (Cowheard) will rip on hockey, baseball (smaller investment per game... much smaller) and any other sport ESPN hasn't loaned out the farm on...

and beyond that all the guy does in flip flop on "emotional teams" Yankees, Sox, Notre Dame, so on... just to get ratings...

I gave up on it a few years ago... when nothing else is on I'll tune in and within five minutes it becomes clear the formula has not changed

Cowherd = ratings, ratings, ratings.......he readily admits this. I, for the life of me can't understand why people get soo damned worked up over him. He's an act, not a journalist.

Cowherd is hot and cold. He sometimes makes good points and then sometimes he makes you wonder where he got that from.

I don't concentrate on which teams he talks good/bad about or which players. If you like an analyst because of that, you're bound to get burned because inevitably, at some point, someone's going to dog your player/team. What I do like about Colin is that he's very good at using real-life analogies when compaing sports to regular life. Always uses business analogies which really bring his point home (most of the time).
