I think the idea is to cover the middle with the linebackers, keep people home, but let guys like Day, and Rochelle rip.

This may be a game where you see Jaylon off the edge and shooting the gap.

But isn't this a four man front kind of game. One where you can allow the d-linemen to get a little up field in their gaps, and use some pressure to disrupt timing. A lot has been made about Clemson's o-line, or lack thereof. If ND can get decent four man pressure, or excellent pressure and absolute disruption using five men, it will be a long night for Clemson.

IrishYJ is the third person I have heard that credibly cites the Clemson staff worrying about their o-line holding up!

I would expect Kelly to come out airing the ball out in the first half, if the weather allows it. I think he will want to get ahead early, and make Clemson into a one-dimensional offense. That plays into ND's hand. If Kelly does not take shots deep early, then I think that will be an indication that he has confidence that their defensive game plan will be successful enough to win the game.

ND wins if:

We score 30+ points.

I don't think so. Watson is NOT durable and once he gets hit he gets rattled. I would love to see some stuff get home and rattle him early. Now if ND can't get to him that obviously changes things.

Normally I would say the same. I just have bad visions of linebackers slipping on a blitz and leaving wide open room for Watson to run wild. This is also a day I'd love not to see Sheldon Day dropping back into coverage.
