With that same theory how can you critique Pyne, he was not perfect, but he won the game.

Both Rees and Pyne are limited and deserve critique. We are a flawed team, but the win was nice even if very frustrating at time.

Simple:

Pyne was put in position to succeed and failed at a higher rate than Rees completely failed to put the offense in position to succeed.

Who recruited Pyne and is his QB coach?

I will take my answer off the air. Below is a good quote from a Syracuse fan.

"They were the only people in the dome that couldn't see that their line dwarfed us. That third and three pass followed by the missed fg... Run it twice, there is no way they don't pick it up"

I just don’t see how people are hating on Rees today? Did he recruit Pyne. Yes. That’s a different story. But he called a fine game. Perfect no, but solid. Half the pass plays Tommy called, Pyne missed numerous dudes open. He’s atrocious. He is who he is. Just not very good.

I thought we were looking at this at the already pre-agreed vacuum of game performance?

I was answering you, not the other dude. Didn't know you were together. Either way, point stands. Rees still was frustrating, and Pyne sucks.

I won't tolerate any slander of Dillingham! I was a big fan of Battle as a young dude, so it was so cool to see him get some redemption once he moved to WR, had a decent little NFL career too. It was hard seeing Michigan State dominate us there for awhile, I was screaming at the TV during this play. This win was cathartic.

I remember it well & it was awesome! The BC game…not so much.

Last I heard he was in the liquor business. He & a partner developed “American Made Moonshine”. Haven’t checked the shelves lately but if they’re still selling it, you should find it in your local liquor store.

We usually aren’t lol. But Dales point remains valid. Everyone knows Pyne stinks. Tommy gave him a few chances and he failed. He said f it and pounded the rock

To pile on the ABC/ESPN hate… during the halftime rundown of the Michigan and MSU game, Booger said that Audric Estime is 5’7” and 210 lbs. During the broadcast, McElroy called Jayden Thomas a tight end twice after his touchdown catch. You would think they would do a quick internet search before they speak.

I don’t hate him. It’s not his fault that he is maxed out on talent and ability. And more is expected from him that he can’t deliver because he can’t.

Also not his fault that he has a QB coach that can’t develop QB’s.

Missing reads and locking in on Mayer 100% his fault.
I don't think its his ball skills, but sometimes rather his height that could be the problem. Mayer is running closer routes and is taller than most of the wrs at 6'4, so is easier to see. Just a guess.

To add to the ESPN hate - they have credited Jacob Lacey with a pass deflection stat in their box score.

Frustrating?

Except for about three plays I questioned, Rees called a good game.

Pyne is limited and misses a lot of passes. Not sure why Pyne “haters” keep beating a dead horse. Been that way for a while now.

Was able to catch the first half of the game. Can't much complain about the Irish yesterday.

Refs were horrible. Didn’t mind the color guy but the play by play guy sucked. Even the wife mentioned he sounded like he was rooting for Syracuse.

The refs and the replay guys. The two plays they overturned were infuriating. I'm not one for conspiracy theories but we should look into using some other conferences refs and replay officials when we play ACC teams. Not sure if our "contract" with the ACC allows this but they sure seem to have an agenda so we should consider.

Not sure whose conference I'd even go to they all seem to be not good. Pac 12 would not even be an option.

Perhaps the SEC? They have the best players and the best coaches maybe they have the best refs.

I counted many more, but the problem is he does it in key moments. Pretty bad when the opposing fan base fans think your OC over thought it a bunch. This was a better week, I admit that, but he is still tainted with the BK know it all behavior at times. KiSS method.

Tim Prister had said up to the ND game, Syracuse was averaging around 9 penalties per game and ND was averaging around 4. He also said Babers called the officiating office this past week to complain about how much the Syracuse team had been penalized. Reading between the lines, that most likely caused the refs to be tougher on ND this game.
