Dino will run up the score if he gets a chance 100%

I am not sure why you think this but I can agree with this part. Cuse needs a statement win. They are playing at home where some of their upsets have happened. People are questioning if cuse is really that good. Beating ND by 3 scores will give the props with the voters even though we aren’t that good.

If we lose by three scores to the same team at the same venue that beat UVA by 2....

Everyone thinks SU is a fraud and I tend to agree but that doesn’t mean I think ND is mentally tough enough to beat them.

The Irish win IF they run the ball effectively. This isn't going to be the game that Pyne finally gets it. The 'Cuse back half is pretty solid. Hand the rock off and keep handing it off till they stop you. Then bust MM in the seams. Irish by a tuddy...

Yeah their D is solid. Their DL was the weak spot but they run a 3-3-5 so they just use their DL to take up space so the LBs can clean it up in aggressive fashion. Clemson’s OL is supposed to be legit this season (it was trash last year) and they demolished SU on the ground to salt that game away.

Schrader has improved his pass numbers over last year…by a lot, but he’ll kill ND w/ his legs so get ready to be driven crazy on 3rd & longs.

After the last few weeks I expect us to come out and look like dog shite, but this season is so wonky that we could equally end up coming out and breaking our foot off in Syracuse's orange ass. Anything is possible since this is an away contest.

I have a lot more confidence in ND since it is an away game, and the atmosphere will probably be pretty good. As long as ND runs the damn ball I think it's a win.

They lost their first game by 6 at Death Valley where nobody really wins other than Clemson.

They're nothing if not well coached and prepared. They've also played a lot of home games.

8 in the box + 3 on Mayer incoming. And it MIGHT just work
Drew Pyne to a pissed off Tommy on the phone: "Coach, they're triple teaming Mayer and they're blitzing 8, I have no answer. What do I do?"

Tommy: "Throw it to any one of the other wide open 3 or 4 guys!"

Drew: "....but I'm trying to throw it to Mayer."

TBF, Clemson helped them out a TON with 4 TOs, 'Cuse neglected to take advantage of it, let Clemson hang around and still got outgained on the afternoon 450-291.

Syracuse also needed a miracle meltdown by Purdue with less than a minute to go to pull off a 3 pt win at home and played a very, very bad UVA team at home the following week and won 22-20. Not to mention they got NC State at the best possible time with Devin Leary unable to play due to injury.

I'm having a hard time getting a read on this game. 'Cuse seems a lot like ND, depends on which team shows up.

I do hope Estime can get some totes and the rage and anger show up to truck guys. We need him to be part of the equation.

SU was up two TDs and refused to give the ball to their best player for the rest of the game. I think Tucker got 2 more carries after they were up.

One team is 6-1 and the other team could be 6-1 but has message boards full of fans lamenting they are not.

Guess the fine line between victory and defeat really is that thin.

So maybe worrying about them running up the score is a bridge to cross once we get there?

This has a UNC game feel to it for me.

No idea. I just still can’t fathom why they didn’t give one of the best RB the ball when they had a 2 TD lead. But I’m not the coach nor do I get paid like one.

Honestly, this team looks a lot like the 2021 team if it had lost its starting quarterback for the year. Heck this team might be better than the 2021 team if you took away both Coan and Kevin Austin.

Just to flip it a bit, if Coan was on this year's team, ND would be 6-1 at worst and might be favored in every remaining game.

What’s up Folks…. As an Upstate New Yorker (Rochester NY), I will be heading to the game this weekend. Anyone else going? Or does anyone know of a good pre game spots??

  1. Syracuse has scored on 28 of 30 opportunities in the red zone. ...
  2. Notre Dame is 169-65-3 (.719) all-time against the ACC. ...
  3. Tucker has 2,820 yards rushing in his career and needs 50 more to move past James Mungro into fifth place on the school list. ...
  4. Notre Dame has been whistled for just 30 penalties this season, sixth fewest in the country, while the Orange have drawn 67 flags, 127th nationally.
2 and 4 bode well. Number one gives me the shits. Wow.

The only thing I can think of is they knew going into the game they weren't going to be able to run the ball. The perplexing part about this, though, is that he's a pretty good receiver, so you'd think they would've been more creative to get him into space.

Either way, expect a heavy dose of him this week.
