I get all this, but strange things can happen at the Carrier Dome. I remember when Clemson lost to them in 2017 (that was a their peak) on Friday night at the Dome. If 'Cuse gets off to an early lead it could get rowdy. Need to start fast.

I agree, on paper, it shouldn't be close. FPI gives the Irish a 57.1% chance of victory. If it were at home, it would be greater than 80%, IMO.

I think this would normally be a game Syracuse would be up for, but they will be coming of NC State and Clemson games, with Pitt the following week. ND is sandwiched in there among some very important games for them. This game is also a matchup nightmare for Cuse. Syracuse's starting D-linemen weigh 219 pounds, 266 pounds, and 268 pounds. ND should be able to impose their will fairly easily.

I’m curious what the crowd is going to be like. I know about 10 people going that are going to be rooting for ND. There’s a pretty solid chance this will be the last time ND is up here.
Why do you think this will be the last time? Is this assuming we have to join a conference and will break the 5 game ACC?

I was actually hoping to make it to this one; I've never been to NY, neither upstate nor the city, so it would've been a fun trip to knock some things off the bucket list. But, I'm getting married next year...not a lot of *uck around money at the moment.

I don’t see the ACC deal lasting, it’s just a hunch. If the contract continues Syracuse is an ideal team for ND to play in NYC because SU has a large alumni base down there.

I was hoping to attend as it’s only a few hours from where I live, but I cannot make it.

Just make sure you get Dinosaur Bar-B-Que if you go….. Delicious and owned locally (has a shop in Rochester and did in Albany). Syracuse is the OG though. I spent two weeks in the area for the state fair and ate it almost every day for lunch

Night time place I went to was Dorsey’s, but I guess it’s called The Hops Spot now

I don’t know much to do other than that as I was working while there (food, few drinks, 9 holes of golf). Although if you’re there an extra day and have kids, I’d HIGHLY recommend visiting the National Museum of Play in Rochester (and eat at Dinosaur Bar-B-Que or at least get a garbage plate at a local diner there). It’s just over an hour down the 90 and it’s really a good time for the family

Nick Tahou's is the greatest place of all time. It will also create long moments of contemplation on the bowl the next day.

Only watched a bit of this game but I followed the whole second half on my phone. It seemed like once Clemson stopped turning the ball over and got their act together they were the far better team?

Idk if I would go as far as to say far better but they went to their backup QB and he got the job done. He only had 4 pass attempts to be fair.

Cuse is definitely beatable. Not saying we will win but we seem to be playing up/down to our competition this year so I think we will be up for it. Also we have played better on the road this year oddly

I didn’t get to watch the game today but from the comments I have been reading this offense won’t beat Syracuse, Clemson nor USC. End of story.

Clemson had 4 turnovers against Syracuse today…..2 fumbles and 2 INTs. Without that, Clemson would have rolled them badly. Syracuse couldn’t stop the run and their offense generated less than 300 yards total. We‘ll have to wait and see which version of the 2022 Irish show up at the dome next weekend, it’s a roll of the dice.

Benching DJ and then a dumb late hit out of bounds play when it was 3rd and 21 changed the game when Syracuse was up 21-10 in the third

Right. I saw that out of bounds penalty. And benching DJ. But also Clemson had four turnovers. Once they stopped with that, their talent prevailed. Point is, Syracuse isn't that scary.

The offense the past 2 games or the offense against UNC and BYU? Cause those are very different offenses.

Pyne is shook. 14-28 against UNLV is unacceptable. And 27-55 against UNLV and Stanford is unacceptable. And Rees can’t get his recruits to produce in the field.

So you’re saying the last 2 games? Man I wish I could predict the future as well as you

Ohio State offense Blah
Marshall offense laughing stock
Cal offense blah
UNC offense creative, forceful, unexpected offense
BYU offense ok should’ve had more points failed to convert big plays.
Stanford haha what a shit show offense
UNLV I didn’t watch due to camping but from the comments I have been reading the offense blah.

I’m not saying the offense has been great at all but we have seen it have potential. Look I’m not confident in the UNC offense to show up but we know they have it in them. Anything can happen once the whistle blows

Maybe Cuse will be looking ahead and sleep walk through this game long enough for ND to get a few scores. Never mind that only happens to ND…LOL

Fine with me.

If this team gave me any reason to get up before 10, then I'd probably hate it.

At this point, this team needs to show me a reason to care. Because as of now, I've checked out mostly.

This is going to be an ass beating by a motivated Syracuse team that plays fundamentally sound defense and has a good offensive system.

And we know this team doesn’t normally play well this early. Not that that they are playing this well at 230 either but.

Perfect start time for this game. We’ll see if they get off the bus or not. I have my doubts.
