Ah hah, thanks! I don't think it's the same guy. Dude I'm thinking of was a position coash at the U few years back

Yeah he posted a tweet showing the weather comparison between South Bend and Coral Cables and talked about that's why you play for Miami.

Alford then replied back taking the #highroad.

The coach later deleted his comment.

I know it's from a Miami newspaper, but it drives me nuts how oversimplified and glossed over "The U" legend is. The 'Canes were just energetic, passionate kids while Notre Dame was a stuck-up, repressed institution with a racist & retrograde fan base. A little true, but people forget just how disrespectful and dirty the Miami guys were. But listening to the former players in "The U" the guys want to play it both ways. "We were bad asses! We intimidated everyone being tough street kids and we loved it" is the sentiment that comes out of one side of their mouths. But then the Miami guys whine and cry when they got vilified. "We didn't know any better! We were just kids rom the inner city! Why was everyone so mean?" It's such BS.

I can't deny Miami's talent back then, but they had no class. And I don't think they cared. Fine, but at least own it if you want to be a bad ass outlaw sticking a finger in the eye of polite society. Don't complain because people don't respect you while you're shitting on what they value.

No, that was Jorge Baez, who is now in an off-field role at Miami I believe.

What has always gotten me is, 97% of people out there think (because of the Convict era in the U's hay day) that the University of Miami is a big public commuter campus like most schools named after the city they're in... like Houston, Memphis, Cincinnati or Louisville. The reality is, it's a private school that's closer in the rankings to BU, NYU or even Chicago than it is the publics listed above. USN&WR has it tied at #44 with Wisco, UofI, Lehigh and UC's Davis & SD. That's good company.

I got offered by the U but was already committed. Seth Greenberg was my recruiter. The educational aspect of the school was very interesting. Meteorology was one of the majors I was considering. All that said, I hated them already, never thought about visiting. They were the NC's my senior year and I had gone to the last 2 ND wins vs. them at home in '80 & '82 I think. They were still trading home wins with them at that point.

Their administrations have done a horrible job managing their academic brand over the years. They are the East coast SC. A school that will tarnish or trash its academic reputation to win on Saturdays. At least in the case of SC, most people still understand it's a good school besides athletics. With Miami, it may as well be Memphis unless you listen to a guidance counselor.

I think we're going to get throttled. Miami is the best team we've played so far. Miami, Virginia Tech, and USC are the three most talented teams on our schedule and we're 2-5 against softies.

Navy, who is a top 25 team ATM, is also intriguing.

Virginia Tech might absolutely dismantle us.

This team desperately needs a big win to turn the psychology around. Miami would be a good start, but I have little hope.

I'm a broken man. I see 1 win vs Army down the stretch and that will be by a field goal as time expires.

Sadly, Im not 100% sure on that one either. ND could very well be 0-2 vs the armed forces this year

Canes rush defense has been poor. We need to run the ball, then run the ball, then run the ball again.

So...we'll probably throw the ball 35+ times and probably disregard what other teams have done to be successful against them. Got it.

They should. They don't practice run blocking. Italics?

Italics? You'd think so, but no...that's probably the game plan.

We seriously don't practice run blocking? That's got to be a mistake. I hope it's a joke. If it's not a joke, that would explain the inconsistency in the run game.

Tix for the game are dirt cheap...hoping to get a freebie at gametime.
At least the weather looks like it will be decent.

I've been in Chicago since Wednesday night. Lots of Miami gear on the streets. Anyone have a good bar to go to near Mag Mile for Cubbies tonight?

Can't start a new post but here goes

Can't start a new post but here goes

I can't shake the feeling that we are going to shake a lot of the b.s. off this week and put together a performance like a lot of us expected coming into the year, and kick the $hit out of these guys Saturday. I know, I know I have no reason to be confident the way things are going, can't explain it, but I think this is the beginning of a strong finish and a springboard into a great 2017.

Watching S. Florida kicking Navy's butt. 28 zip in the 1st quarter. Hoping offense and defensive coaches are watching how S. Florida is doing this. Please.

Sounds like you were a pretty good hoopster back in the days. Please share more stories.

I think NDs shitty record will impact it more, if anything.

There has been over 249 consecutive sellouts. I have no doubt the game will be sold out tomorrow. If every game was sold out in 2007, I don't see any reason why it won't be tomorrow.

Team comes out of a bye rusty (read:shi-ty), and falls behind big early. Makes a comeback, falls short. Basically the MSU script 2.0.

First play of the game after two weeks to prepare should most likely be a zone read for a loss of 1. Looking forward to this.

You're too optimistic. Miami is athletic enough to blow up the play for a loss of 3.
