My son is finishing his Bachelor's at State in May. Another son's wife is graduating their Veterinary school in May. Maybe I should haul them all up to witness a proper whooping we owe them.

Hopefully, this game won't be played in a hurricane. I'm still drying out from last year's NC State game.

I hope it snows and we beat them by 60. Stupidest football experience in my life compounded by the picture perfect day Sunday that was fully predicted 2-3 days in advance. F-ing moronic ACC BS.

That was the worst part...driving back on an absolutely beautiful Sunday knowing I could've been watching a normal game

I didn't like him from last year's game.

1 week after USC as well. Can you say "letdown game"

Yeah, this is a tough two game stretch.
NC St does play Clemson the week after ND. I doubt they look past ND, but with an ACC championship dreams on the line may be tempting. That game is at NC St so an upset isn’t that far fetched, especially after what I saw tonight.

I'm not in agreement. I think NC State is good, but not "real" good.

Louisville is just a really mediocre team. They are essentially Lamar Jackson surrounded by a garbage offensive line, middling skill position players and an abysmal defense. Without him, I think they're a 5 win team at best.

I'm a bit conflicted, because this does just spell "trap game", but two things stand out that make me think it also isn't one:

1) NC State isn't likely to take ND by surprise since they're almost definitely going to be 6-1 going into this contest and ranked in the top 15.

2) It's a revenge game. I'm pretty sure a lot of guys in the offensive front are looking for some payback in this game.

I don't really know of many situations where you have back-to-back revenge games, so maintaining the momentum is crucial coming off the bye.

But I hope Glinch and his boys are ready because that front 4 looks brutal.

This games scares me... IF we are able to beat USC, we will be drained... To have to get back up the next week for another big game is a tall task.. IF we lose to USC, this puts a ton of pressure on us as losing two in a row will get that Fire Kelly Knives sharpened

I think NC State beating Louisville and FSU is evidence that they are really good. However, I don't see this has a trap game or a let down game - NC State could be ranked in the top 15 by the time we play them. We do get NC State before they play Clemson, so that's good.

BK needs to rise to the occasion, just like the team. I think the USC/NCSt weeks can also secure his spot and bring a lot of fans back to his side. It's all up to him. And it should be. IMO, if he comes out of it 0-2, he should go. They are home games after all. If he is 2-0, people need to STFU and cut him some slack for a while. If he's 1-1, people can still talk shit on both sides and I'm OK with that.

I feel like NC State's RB is going to kill us in the flats. That guy catches the ball efficiently and is immediately gobbling up yards. Obviously their DL speaks for itself, but that guy's my dark horse to really upset me.

If the team had won last year I'd be more worried; like Balki said, I think this is a revenge game. That's not to say that the offense will crush NC State's Defensive Line, but the two future NFL picks on the left side MUST know that this is the game tape that will be used in draft discussions, and Sam knows he didn't play well last year either. Couple that with BK wanting revenge just like the Sparty game, and I don't think this game will be overlooked.

I'm not panicking yet with this game. This is the same Louisville line that got one of the most elusive QB's I've seen, get sacked like 48 times last year? Their front 4 looks to be solid but they also looked gassed at the end of that game. Say what you want about our line but they are far more talented and far more physical than what NC State faced last night.

Agree 100% - This is turning into a really big matchup for both teams potentially. I don't think we go to sleep on them as last year is an easy reminder that they are a legitimate team to be respected. They will be resting while we battle USC - BUT they play Clemson the week after us. ND does not get a ton of mystique points with NCST fans for some reason (maybe b/c they have beaten us the last two times we met) and they are in the ACC title hunt - could see them looking past us a bit. Most likely though, they come to battle after a week off.

Battle of 6-1 Top 20 teams with wins over USC and FSU between them? That's something to hope for on both ends!

If we don't win this game because we are drained from USC, then we don't deserve to win in the first place. ND is bigger and more talented nearly everywhere. There is no excuse.

NCST has a history if giant slaying. They can get up and beat just about anyone any given Saturday (or Thursday night). Their problem is their history of also puking in their own shirt and losing to patsies after beating giants - or tripping over their own dicks to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. The odds of them beating Louisville, ND and Clemson in one month's time should be low. While the bye week works against us, they have more concern with beating Clemson and contending for an ACC title. It would be pure to NC State form to beat us and then completely get destroyed by Clemson a week later. We will have our work cut out for us.

didn't Purdue and North Carolina nearly beat Louisville?

I thought that North Carolina was equal to Louisville watching the game

Purdue isn't terrible, and I think that was before UNC lost half their team to injuries.

Bad team around him or not, beating Lamar Jackson is nothing to sneeze at.

Not "being terrible" should not be considered an endorsement.

I thought NC ST was going to beat Louisville last night. In fact I would have been very surprised if they lost. (no, I didn't bet...never do)

I agree that Hunt is a very special player, It's his supporting cast that is the problem.
Louisville defence is well below average. They couldn't stop any team from the FBS except Kent State....And Kent State's offence have scored 19 total points in their 4 FBS match ups.

Driskell's response when asked, "Of the remaining 6 opponents, who do u believe creates the most trouble or mismatches for ND?"
