That’s game Michigan.

So what type of Michigan team will we see next week? A desperate team looking to save their season or a team that is defeated barely hanging on or a team that has given up on the season etc?

Hopefully the later, and then we jail sex them. Their season isn't over, but it's unlikely they even can get to the Conference Championship if they can't get past this Penn State team. They'll surely lose to tOSU and hopefully us too.

I'm hoping we piss off Don Brown this bad next week:

It looks like a big win for PSU. But I don’t think either of these teams are very good. As others have mentioned tOSU will rock PSU. OSU is on Alabama type level.

On one hand I feel bad for that kid who dropped what was a perfect pass that wasn’t thrown too hard on the other hand kid basically blew it. Even if they scored doesn’t mean UM wins. We have more talent and depth

Better be able to defend Michigan’s WRs. That’s all I’m saying about this game until it’s conclusion.

NDs CBs have the disadvantage if Patterson can get them the ball.

I think this is going to be a very tough out. What Michigan gave up all game were the open shots down the field. Lots of 1v1 opportunities to be had against their safeties and LBers. We haven't capitalized on that at all this year. Running the ball is going to be extremely difficult into the teeth of that defense... need to take shots down the field, or will not have enough success.

The quick passing game for Michigan targeting crossers and getting the ball out to WRs on the perimeter looked really strong in the latter part of the game. They have a lot of talented pass catchers. What we saw at the start of the game was what Michigan has mostly shown this season -- an ineffective passing game because Patterson eats sacks and can't complete passes down the field. Hope we get that next week. Also, impressed with how they ran the ball in the second half.

I expect Michigan to open as a 3 point favorite.

1st half D versus USC and no foot off the break playing not to get beat. Our pressure was weak second half vs the Trojans. We need to keep Patterson flustered all day. Elston needs to release the hounds. Hope the DL is hungry or Patterson will dink and dunk like he did in the 2nd half. Also, need a big game out of Bilal. Tackling needs to be more fundamental, less focused on the strip. Overall, USC has better receivers. I’m less intimidated by Michigan’s lot, though I expect Bell to be hoping to make amends for losing that game. We also need to watch out for their TE over the middle for easy first downs.

And for offense, well...

How can Notre Dame ever compete with such an impressive team? I mean look at how great they were against Army, Wisconsin and Iowa...... I’m not buying this team and I still don’t think PSU is all that good.

We are simply better and they’ll have to play extremely well to beat us. I think we win by double digits. Vegas can set the line wherever they want, we are better. I’m more confident about this than I was against USC.

I think we've gotta come out prepared with energy. Michigan will be motivated.
ditto I don't like dealing with a wounded animal-big house will be nasty gotta get off early this has now turned out to be a huge game-they need it for respect and we just plain need it!!!!!

Against just about any other non-rival I would agree, but this is going to be against Michigan under the lights in the Big Toilet Bowl. You can often forget about stats and tendencies when it comes to rivalry games, things are different when it comes to ND vs. Michigan. If Gameday ends up in Ann Arbor, they'll be even more pressure on them to show up. I think we still win, but I expect they'll play some of their best football up till now because...fuck Michigan.

It looks like Mich has finally figured out their "New" offense. Patterson played very well for the last 3 Qtrs vs PSU, kept plays alive rather than panicking. Used those talented receivers way better than they have been.

Why would they regress now? Shouldn't they be even better at home than they were in a tough atmosphere? I don't think your optimism is warrented. We might win but we better hit some deep shots to guys who won't get caught from behind.

If our defense decides to sit 7-8 yards off the line like they normally do against WR’s we will get killed

LOL, you guys realize Michigan lost right? If ND loses to this team, then they don't deserve a NY6 bowl.

Calm down, we got this. Michigan is toast.

This will be the best defense we face all year. And Michigan's 2nd half offense, on the road, against a crazy fan base, finally clicked.

We'll see how ND fans feel now that the game is in front of us. Michigan was better than PSU in their own house.

Did you watch this defense against Wisconsin or Army? Give me a break. The scoreboard said PSU was better. I’m not blindly confident, I just think we are a little too scared of a 2 loss team we beat last year (comfortably considering it was a 7 pt game at the end). Because they found a weakness to expose for a couple quarters against an overrated PSU team, we all think this is Oklahoma now! Are you kidding? If we lose, we aren’t very good. I think we’re pretty good. Just like I thought we’d play very close against UGA when everyone here seemed to think we’d get smoked..... Our spots we were concerned about to start the year have been solid (even very good in some cases) and as long as we don’t lay an egg, it should be another fairly comfortable win

There is a few things that worry me here. #1 Books ability to get the ball down field. #2 We have to tackle much better than we did against USC. #3 you can't let up in this game or any game for that matter. It almost cost us last week. #4 Long better have a good play book ready!

Im interested to hear why you think Book will move the ball on offense against this defense, in their house.

Our team is really good. Unfortunately our QB has proven he's not.

I think this game will be on Lea to win for us. I have little faith in our offense (Long? Book? Both?!) being able to exploit what Michigan gives us - i.e. BIG play opportunities via the long ball. I think we can run the ball efficiently, but only if we establish some sort of intermediate-to-deep passing threat. Otherwise, we're fucked.

We're 7.5 dogs.

But keep saying they suck and pretending our offense isn't garbage.

I have no clue why you follow ND and claim to be a fan. Every game we play you post “this is the best defense” “this is the best QB” “this is the best WR” etc we will face. You always have more confidence in every opponent than you do in ND. Sad way to spend the football season. Sucks to be you.

Can you repost the claims you're claiming? The only one I can recall is saying WRs from USC were best we'll face.

Or is this fake news?
