I think the reason ND doesn't try some version of a green-out is because the home stadium crowd lacks interest in such things.

the ND stadium fanbase is not unified for a variety of reasons. trying to force them to be unified (at least cosmetically) wouldn't work. still plenty of folks who go along to "hate watch"

ND could just start a general rule of green vs USC. But they want all the merch sales so trying to indentify one single color for fans to wear goes against that.

iirc those were a dark blue towel? probably not the best for standign out against the variety of dark jackets/sweatshirts. White, Gold, Green would most likely be the colors you'd have to use to get a real distinct visual effect.

Odds on us coming out in green unis?

One of the ND social media accounts was priming the 2005 green unis a couple of days ago, alarm bells started ringing in my brain.

Slim to none and slim just left on the last horse in town. There's always talk of green uni's for USC, but it's just talk from the fans and some media asking the question to raise interest. Given the team has worn shamrock series unis for a number of games, I think the uniqueness of the green jerseys from the first time they've been worn is gone.

Not that I'm against them, just don't see it happening.

This is the biggest Notre Dame - USC game in a decade and the biggest at Notre Dame Stadium since Bush Push.
