Thanks for the info Wooly. But you straight trippin' if you think Jimbo sits Ramsey for this game.

I'm sure that they will play him. But you never know, and even if he does start, the kid is obviously not in a good place mentally. I have a feeling that the entire team feels the pressure.

Florida State defensive back Jalen Ramsey learned Sunday. Ramsey was kicked out of practice by Jimbo Fisher after he got a bit too physical.

"He was told not to do something and he defied me," Fisher said. "We'll judge from there. He'll decide if he wants to play at Florida State."

"You're going to do things my way or they're not going to play here. When I tell somebody to do something and they don't do it, it's serious. That's how you have problems."

Now, it was not just one isolated incident that led to Ramsey being tossed out. It was several. He got into a tussle with running back Karlos Williams, shoved receiver Kermit Whitfield and laid out a big hit on tight end Ryan Izzo during a non-tackling period.

The big blow came when Ramsey blitzed and knocked Williams into the legs of Jameis Winston. That's when Fisher booted Ramsey from practice, but not before letting Ramsey know how he felt about his decisions until Ramsey was off the field.

Which he should have done.

Florida State's Jalen Ramsey kicked out of practice

Ramsey scuffled with starting running back Karlos Williams and later shoved receiver Kermit Whitfield in the back after a play. He also crushed tight end Ryan Izzo during a non-tackling period. The final straw came when Ramsey blitzed off the edge and ran through Williams, who was pass blocking, and knocked him into the legs of the reigning Heisman winner. Fisher immediately kicked him out after Winston hit the ground and berated Ramsey all the way until he was in the tunnel.

-Florida Statedefensive back Jalen Ramsey was kicked out of practice Sunday after the sophomore was involved in several physical plays, the last ending in quarterback Jameis Winston being knocked to the ground.

Coach Jimbo Fisher said Ramsey was warned and called it a lack of leadership and character.

"He was told not to do something and he defied me," Fisher said. "We'll judge from there.

"He'll decide if he wants to play at Florida State."

Last season, Ramsey started 14 games and became the first freshman to start at cornerback at Florida State since Deion Sanders. He was seventh on the team with 49 tackles, and added a sack, an interception, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and a quarterback hurry.

Wow, what an a$$hole. I had no idea.

If we get up on them quickly, I could see them falling apart at the seems faster than a a bod squad shirt that Charlie Weis accidently tried on.

Every sociopath has a breaking point where they go full Patrick Batemen. The pressure on Winston is higher than it has ever been. The Title IX suit is happening, he knows (imo) that he lied to his coach about the signatures and wonders if he'll get caught. The pressure is different this week than it's been since the original rape accusations. Furthermore, there are signs that the pressure is getting to the entire team. Look at Jalen Ramsey's case. Yesterday's practice was certainly not a clean practice. They watched their teamate get berated by Fisher all of the way to the tunnel after essentially disrespecting his fellow teammates. Things are not perfect in Tallahassee.

In order for this to affect him he needs to have a conscience, which at this point I do not believe that exists.

Is Jimbo serious? You must have to do what he says, unless you've won the heisman.

We're on the same page here Koon. Starting fast has never been so important in my opinion.

For those coming to the game, you can park at the tlccc for $10 on a first come, first served basis. You can also park at the circle k near the stadium for $25, which donated to the red cross. Your parking permit is tax deductible!

We've been holding back in our fast starts just for this game...like we do our play calling for the Michigan game every year.

Just watched the QB battle capsule on ESPN. Desmond Howard is saying that we are weak at LB, and in the secondary. Also, we can't run the bowl. How in the hell are we winning football games?

Everyone we've played sucks, they should be FCS teams.

Clearly, if ND gets rocked, we all now have the ability to fully blame LAX....

I've been saying the same thing all week. A fumble, 3-and-out, sack, big kickoff return, anything to spark us out the gate.
Agreed, and I think our defense is better equipped to provide that spark than the offense. Whatever the reason, our offense never opens the game with a killer instinct so I sincerely hope we're kicking off to start the game. Either that, or we'll start with one or two burned timeouts and the short end of the early battle for field position.

I think Farley has a surprising game. Im not 'all in' on him at all, but I'm very happy with his overall play. This is the game I've been saying he's going to get exposed, but I think he comes in and balls out, so I changed my mind.

Even Mark May will give credit where credit is due on occasions. Never Desmond, and it makes him look more and more the idiot.

I haven't seen the clip, but I think that might just be a poor choice of words. What we are at LB and in the secondary is thin, and extremely so. Between injuries and suspensions, aren't we missing something obscene like eight guys back there?

The more I look at this game the more I think their sociopath at QB embraces all the hate and rallies the troops for their best performance of the year.

I know I've been going on and on about how ND can win this game but:
1. FSU is getting healthier/deeper on defense for this game than they have been at certain points this year where their D has looked vulnerable.
2. Blitzing Jameis Winston has never really worked for anyone so why should it work now?
3. Sociopath factor described above.

I think FSU probably wins something like 45-24 if Jameis does what I'm saying he will in terms of intrinsic motivation. I think if this was a "normal" game we'd probably have a good shot of winning something like 37-34.

You could be right but I'm somewhat optimistic about selectively blitzing him b/c BVG has done a great job of disguising his blitzes this year, I believe Day and Jones can get a push up the middle and our blitzers, namely Jaylon and Shumate, can close on him faster than any other defender he's faced this year and they have the power/strength to bring him down in the open field. Jaylon is a freak and he's smart/deceptive. He'll get to him. Shumate is inconsistent but two things he's done here with consistency are playing fast and laying the wood to anything not bolted to the floor.

I would avoid sending corners and Schmidt. Schmidt has been a rock all year but there are two issues with sending him, in my opinion. He's not going to close on him as fast as Jaylon (or Onawalu) and it'll give Winston an extra second to stand in the pocket and find the soft spot of the defense. If he does get to him, I'm not confident he can consistently wrap him up and drop him. No knock on Joe, Winston is just big and elusive and I'm being realistic. The corners have played well too but I don't think they can consistently bring that pig down in the open field. I think Winston wins those match ups more often than not and will make us pay.

I think the offense drives the defensive this week. I'd love to see us start fast and score early but I'd be just as happy starting out strong on offense and taking easy yards, i.e., RB screen, WR screen, QB draw, boot leg to Koyack in the flat, etc, gain some confidence and move the chains. Even moderate success on offense will give the defense some confidence.

Play them close in the first quarter, get a score before halftime, shut them down in the 3rd quarter and make a play to win the game in the fourth quarter. It's easy, ok.

Or a poor choice of mouths. And brains. Desmond Howard's. The inimitable prognosticator that brought you the mighty preseason ranking of the Wolverines as number six, with UND officially out of the top 25?

And we are not thin at linebacker. I am willing to bet there are a lot of programs where Morgan, Martini, Turner and Counsel could play right now!

Nothing against you, but Desmond's mouth is a douche nozzle, and all it is connected to is his brain. But he is the guy to rag on when UM loses!
