That's the thing though, Book doesn't lose! He's like 25-3 now. What are his three losses? One to future champ Clemson in the playoffs, one at Georgia in a close one, and a stinker in the rain at Ann Arbor where the entire team and coaching staff embarrassed themselves. It's pretty hard hating on those losses, Michigan aside. It's not like he's dropping one to Syracuse like Clausen.
Coaches put the best player on the field, period. People clamour to bench Tommy, then Hendrix nearly costs us the game. Some of us fought for Zaire to regain his spot post injury (I ate crow), and Kizer was clearly the right choice as Zaire lost his confidence and the offense. Phil has played up and down since transferring, he needed heroics to beat lowely Texas St. The grass ain't always greener, and it's hard to get a QB like Trevor Lawrence to come here, AND have him live up to expectations. Recruiting can be a crap shoot, and stars mean absolutely nothing once you step on campus...not if you fail to live up to potential. No one that has transferred to date has made a big splash, that should tell you everything. I'm fairly confident we have the best player at QB that we currently have available on the roster. That's all you can ask for. Coaches are de-incentivized to start the lesser of two players, that's not good for job security.
