Why do people care about the spread so much?

Oh, that's right people gamble on sports.

Probably to make them go the length of the field with no timeouts.

Pinned that deep, they have to play a lot more conservatively and that can help bleed the clock a lot better.

Tons of yards on offense against a very bad defense. Very impressed by the OL and RBs.

The defense played one of their more error prone games in awhile, but credit to FSU for making plays.

Watching crazy shit unfold across college football, in just happy the team got over early gaffes to seize control of the game.

Yeah sometimes you just gotta be happy with a W. There's a reason Rakes Report has the hilarious Winning is Hard/Schadenfreude section.

Bo Bauer played his best game so far in his career.
I’d love to see JOK, Bauer and Kiser on the field together.

This is the Book we need going forward.

OL is amazing. Tyree and Kyren are amazing.

Good to see Von have a great game.

Always happy for a win. Our secondary is the only thing concerning for me.

Hard to take anything away from playing FSU. What a shit team. Loved Book, Von, Williams, the OL, but boy FSU was bad. Happy for the win, but hard to be too happy. Especially the D.

Happy with the win. Would have been nice not to give up so many points, but you don't go three weeks without tackling and come out looking polished. Lee has still only surrendered more than 30 points in a single game, and our OL and RBs put on a show. Onto the next one.

Wondering how the game would've unfolded without the Keys muffed punt. Get back to work and keep honing your craft.

I get we havent played in 3 weeks and all that, rust, etc. But this FSU team hasnt been competitive with ranked teams in 2 years and we gave them confidence. This ND team is experienced and talented and we still cant do what the elite teams do, demoralize inferior teams.

All in all, the team came out with a victory. It's not just the layoff for the team it's also the post viral fatigue for the guys that contracted COVID. It's real and you can see the extreme example in Xavier Thomas from Clemson. The beat writers all predicted a game with the team not looking sharp and FSU not going away easily because of the athletes they have but ultimately would be outclassed by ND's depth and organization by the end of the game. I'd say their predictions were pretty spot on.

Offense was good - though passing game kept it from being in the magnificent realm. They can't just keep running like this, can they? I mean FSU regularly sent 7 or 8 and the blocking held up while the RBs had great vision and cuts so hard that even I'm going to have my ankles examined by the FSU team doc after that game. We keep saying that a talented D Line will stop them but here we are, again. Pitt and Clemson are the best remaining defensive lines so let's just keep riding that happy wave until we get there.

Unconfirmed rumor I saw after the game is that our D Line was hit really hard the last few weeks. I was curious as to why we were blitzing a linebacker (and sometimes also a safety) every down because that's just not Lea's style typically. He's usually a blanket base then dial up the pressure at opportune times type of play caller. Makes sense though if they were worried about the linemen holding up on the interior. But then again, they could have had at least 3 or 4 more sacks if Travis wasn't so squirmy and elusive. I'm talking just the easy dead to rights hands on jersey types of sacks throughout the game. Ade's first sack on Blackman when he came in for the last series probably felt like a piece of cake not having him slip out and scramble away. The space vacated by the blitzing linebackers gave Travis room to run without a spy and extend drives. This won't happen like this again in the next few weeks.

A win is a win especially when the Big XII is in shambles and the SEC has mostly forgotten how to play defense at all unless you're having Mike Leach. Let's enjoy it and chalk up the hiccups we saw to exactly why we predicted these hiccups to happen in the first place. On to the next week, team should get healthy, Liam's got his warrior toughness badge earned forever, and let's just keep waiting for our deep passing game to somehow emerge. Top 4, here we come!

I gave them a new car,
they said I WANT A CADILLAC;
I gave them Champagne and a Winner,
but all they wanted was Prozac.

The Irish played a little sloppy at times. The two turnovers hurt - basically gave them 10 points.

But, 554 yards, including 353 on the ground is not too shabby even against F$U.

Any team that goes to ND Stadium gets more pumped than they would anywhere else. I expected a game from them - just not the turn-overs which gave them very short fields to work with.

Overall very happy with the team overall performance.

FYI - I got to Miramar Beach around noon and started drinking about then so, the late 3rd and 4th qtr was pretty much a blur.... my old lady said I was slurring pretty much from then until I crawled to bed so..... I'm basing what I remember in the first half and watch on college football final.....

To be fair, they switched to a new QB and are a million times better on offense than they were with Blackman because they have an explosive playmaker back there now. Hopefully Jordan Travis didn't suffer a serious injury because he has start potential.

FSU found their QB and Norvell had them ready to play. Gave them 10 points and still controlled the game.

Except for one hurried throw Book looked very good.

We have a couple of electrifying RB’s.

Three weeks off showed in the first half.

My only question was why Lea kept blitzing when it wasn’t working?

The mental makeup of this team is outstanding.

It was mentioned above but I don’t think the muffed punt can be overstated. We had a shot to bury them right there.

I think it was said above, but I definitely buy the COVID hits on the DL taking away some of the DLs pep and pass rushing ability. Additionally, I think with the COVID hits on the secondary Lea might not have believed they could hold coverage as long as they normally would.

Not scoring from 8.5 in the third on and the handing over of 10 points are about my only two "gripes"
