Wondering how the game would've unfolded without the Keys muffed punt. Get back to work and keep honing your craft.

If we chalk up the 10 points FSU scored off turnovers to rust then FSU only scores 16 and there’s no big concern all things considered. Not saying the TOs were due to rust...impossible to know. Broadcast crew made a point of crediting the FSU punter for being able to put spin on the ball making it hard to secure so kudos to the Aussie. With Kyren, it was a good defensive play that hopefully shows him he has to protect the ball better. Glad BK & staff stuck w/ him so he didn’t let that miscue fester and get in his head.

Book looked great in the pocket last night is my biggest take away... Was decisive when to run and when to move in pocket... Didn't move into pressure like he does sometimes.... The running plays were great calls with huge holes... Glad for von coming alive! But my goodness where has Hayes been on def... Non factor

I'm about 90% sure that the whole "Aussie" punt stuff is nonsense lol.

I hope so. Although don’t get carried away w/ Austin. I doubt he sees more than 15 snaps. They need to ease him back in so he can be closer to 100% for Louisville & onward.

I saw the one deep target to Austin. Was that it? How about total # of snaps?

Just curious. Hopefully he got his legs under him and feels healthy & confident moving forward.

Last night was the first I’d heard of it TBH. Remember Keyes hasn’t played since the opener so I tend to agree with you and would lean more to rust. He has shown good hands in the past especially last season at WR.

Best I've seen Book look in forever and the OL was dominant. Sloppy at times but overall, great win.

Let us not forget the missed FG. We left A LOT of points on the field.

I read about ten or so comments from FSU people post-game. They spoke mostly about their own team, of course, but inserted things like they were proud that they could hang in there against us. They were upbeat about finally finding a QB who was a threat. Directly about us, they all used one word: "PHYSICALITY." That's what our opponent mainly thought about us.

Of course we have comments on IE referring to our OLine as the rag doll boys, so those FSU players and coaches must be mistaken.

Succint summary - offense looked really good. Defense looked like it has covid.

Happy to get the fumbles and missed FG in the rear view now. We had an easy third down drop early too. Almost to be expected though given the layoff. 2nd half was much cleaner.

Our OL + Tremble and McKinley blocking are fun to watch. Nice having a couple of speedy backs w/ vision and patience making cuts then bursting/breaking away as well.

Offense looked absolutely deadly as Book looked like a star last night. He was absolutely humming the ball and hitting all the throws.

I get we havent played in 3 weeks and all that, rust, etc. But this FSU team hasnt been competitive with ranked teams in 2 years and we gave them confidence. This ND team is experienced and talented and we still cant do what the elite teams do, demoralize inferior teams.

1) It wasn't just that we haven't played in 3 weeks, we essentially did nothing for almost 2 weeks. It wasn't just like having 2 byes and ND just practiced during that time, ND had to cease football operations for almost 2 weeks. That is a lot of practice and conditioning time lost, and for some of the guys, they weren't even cleared until mere days before the game.

2) This isn't the same FSU team that got trounced by Miami. Not only did Norvell miss that game, but they had yet to make the switch to Jordan Travis at QB, who is unquestionably and by a WIDE MARGIN their best QB.

I don’t think anyone has Q-level talent. He’s a generational talent. That said, Banks is going to start on Sundays.

Does he start at RT or guard on Sunday’s? I’m leaning towards RT.

Sure, let's see what happens vs UNC and Clemson.

I don't think it's fair to expect us to give Clemson a real game, sadly. I think they will wreck Bama/UGA/OSU when playoff season comes around. We can be the fifth best team in the country and still get trounced in that one, they don't have to be mutually exclusive.

I meant for both ND and FSU. I'd be willing to bet FSU gets trounced by both. I just hope we dont get trounced by both.

Was watching the Clemson game and Herbie was announcing. Question came up about who could possibly upset Clemson. Said maybe VT or FSU. Seemed to dismiss us totally.

Idk, OSU gave them a real game last year. Its not like it cannot be done.

I think it will come down to the following

A. Book becomes a passing threat and takes shots.
B. A playmaker on the outside comes out to support our monster TE’s (Kevin Austin)
C. We don’t lose anymore major players/reps/experience/growth to COVID.

I think our defense is up to the challenge and if we can balance our unreal run game with a passing threat, it’ll be a great game.

Wait a couple of weeks until we have played a couple more games and they have their game conditioning back where it needs to be. Then decide if we can or can’t hang with Clemson.

That’s insane.

I see what he is saying. He knows Clemson will bring their best against ND, he thinks the only way they lose is a game they sleep walk through. Which we know they will be up to the challenge coming to South Bend.
