Isn't it supposed to rain earlier in the day, and not in the evening?
Every one of my Clemson cohort down here basically that we need to force DJ to throw and stop the run. Seems like they need to do the same to us.
Gonna be an ugly game regardless.
Was just going to say Declan’s is never a bad ideaI really like Wells Street, several good bars but Declan’s is always a great ND crowd.
What are the odds that both DJ and Pyne are on the bench to end this game...Every one of my Clemson cohort down here basically that we need to force DJ to throw and stop the run. Seems like they need to do the same to us.

I think odds are higher that Pyne is on bench before DJ. Part of that is their stature as it relates to getting injured. The other part is that DJ is a former 5-star who played one horrendous game. Pyne has played multiple horrendous games to the point where most of the ND fanbase has accepted that as his baseline & that the UNC game is his ceiling IF everything goes perfect & the opposing defense blows. What are the odds that both DJ and Pyne are on the bench to end this game...
Both fan bases are scared to death of their own starting QB being awful.
DJ maybe, but if Pyne is healthy he is the guy. Period. Like it or not, it's the truth. What are the odds that both DJ and Pyne are on the bench to end this game...

I think the opposite. Dabo has shown that he has a pretty quick hook and will pull his starter if they are struggling. There is no indication that TR or MF have that same mind set. In addition, DJ's back-up is another 5 star...I think odds are higher that Pyne is on bench before DJ. Part of that is their stature as it relates to getting injured. I wish this wasn't accurate but I think you're correct.DJ maybe, but if Pyne is healthy he is the guy. Period. Like it or not, it's the truth.
But you have to account for the fact that Pyne is one hit away from being injured. If he’s in concussion protocol, how bad Angeli is becomes a moot point b/c he’s all you got. It's been zero games since DJU got benched. Pyne's backup has attempted zero career passes. ND wouldn't even let Angeli attempt a pass against a UNLV team they beat by 23 points.
You’re assuming I’m talking about Pyne’s usual struggles against shit defenses like Stanford & UNLV…I’m not. Clemson may not be vintage 2018 but they’re the best defense we’ve faced since OSU so once Pyne commits multiple turnovers via pick sixes & fumbles, even Rees won’t have a choice. And then it gets worse when our fears of how bad (inexperienced) Angeli is are realized when Clemson peels their ears back and pour it on.I think the opposite. Dabo has shown that he has a pretty quick hook and will pull his starter if they are struggling. There is no indication that TR or MF have that same mind set. Well, I can't argue with that. If Pyne decides to hold the ball like last week, he's not going to get 7 seconds to mill around back there. But you have to account for the fact that Pyne is one hit away from being injured. If he’s in concussion protocol, how bad Angeli is becomes a moot point b/c he’s all you got.
To me that’s the least of ND’s worries. I think too many fans assume DJ has similar confidence issues as Pyne. DJ is still miles ahead of Pyne as far as that is concerned. Not to say that he may eventually crack under pressure from an great defense but it won’t be ND.In any event our DC should at least preapred to face multiple series with Klubnik in at QB
We also beat Syracuse, BYU, North Carolina, and played fairly well against Ohio State. We lost to Stanford and Marshall.
Clemson is going to butt f us.
I believe the TO margin in home games is minus-7We also beat Syracuse, BYU, North Carolina, and played fairly well against Ohio State.
Not saying we're going to win, but with this season anything could happen. Just wish this game was Away...no idea why we've played like crap at home.

Given that they put Pyne back in against UNLV when he was clearly banged up and not himself after that hit at the goal line, I think we’re basically Pyne or Die Trying. What does the score have to be for our coaches to make the change?
I think we could be losing 40-0 and they would keep Pyne in.
I think the UNC win was impressive, seeing as we are their only loss.To me that’s the least of ND’s worries. I think too many fans assume DJ has similar confidence issues as Pyne. ND‘s RZ defense conversion rate is the worst in the nation. I don’t expect that to change especially w/ DJ’s ability to run the ball. No way Cam Hart or Brandon Joseph or any of the LBs are stopping him.
Shipley provides quick strike ability & DJ can throw the ball downfield giving Clemson the ability to strike from well beyond the 20 yard lines unlike most of ND’s opponents.
Has Clemson truly had an impressive win? No. Neither has ND and Clemson has something ND lacks…a functional QB. Imagine if ND had to rely on Drew Pyne last season to lead a game-winning drive vs FSU, Toledo or VT? I prefer ND’s odds w/ Coan despite his flaws. Now imagine if ND had Coan vs Marshall, Stanford, UNLV, Cal and the remainder of the schedule. They could very well be 7-1 going into Saturday’s game and have a puncher’s chance at pulling the upset. That’s how important a QB is in the college game & that’s what’s ultimately going to cost ND competing w/ a beatable but above average Clemson team.
FTFYGiven that they put Pyne back in against UNLV when he was clearly banged up and not himself after that hit at the goal line, I think we’re basically win or die Pyning.
The wind could still be an issue & it’s arguably worse for passing than rain but looks like most of the bad weather will move out before game time. You’re right…ND can’t beat Clemson running 60 times. And when Clemson collect double digit stuffs, don’t blame the OL…blame the lack of a functional QB. When a great OL faces off vs a great DL = advantage DL. There’s rare exceptions but DL usually wins the battle.I have mixed feelings about this weather situation. Yeah playing in slop might slow down Clemson's passing game. But it will definitely slow down ND's. DJ is big and strong and can probably still sling it enough in the wind and rain. Pyne is small and not so strong, and can't sling it in the sunshine. We know ND can't beat Clemson by running the ball 60 times, even in the rain. I think it is better for ND to just have cold but dry and not windy conditions.
Still shorts weather here in the midwest unfortunatelyWeather gods are not helping. Temps now to be in the low 50's with 2% chance of rain. Boo!
