We put 55 on them last year and didn’t give up a point. No idea what they had come back, but Clemson appears ill prepared in game 1. Could just be lazy planning and underestimation.

For perspective, GT's 2022 projected OFEI is -.03 (71st) and DFEI is -0.64 (108th), which only puts them at an FEI of -.29 (91st overall). Clemson looking very mortal against a team that's at the bottom of the third quartile in FBS.

If Ga Tech was a competent team and not GA Tech (say BYU level), this game would come down to the wire. Ga Tech just doesnt have the horses to stay with Clemson.

Really sucks when your clunkers are on prime time, national TV lol. Clemson could have won this game by 21+, which looks likely, in the noon saturday slot and no one would have batted an eye at keeping them at 4.

Yeah that was a weird line. Basically they play a typical ACC schedule, no one impressive out of conference, and us. We are the only team they’ll see this year with remotely comparable talent.

Found this pretty wild - due solely to transfers, Ga Tech is the #5 school in the ACC in team talent and #30 nationally (above Baylor, Utah, Michigan Sate, Ok St, etc...).

They basically wore GT down to the point where their defense was so gassed they could run straight seams across the board and probably score every time.

Clemson's defensive line is very legit. Bresee in particular is a dude. We need Patterson and Spindler for those games, not Lugg and Correll. Correll and Lugg are going to get destroyed by Bresee and Davis if we stand pat.

But that offense is just....yikes.

This game will make or break the Tommy Rees era as OC IMO. Clemson is not a high powered offense that we need to play keep away from how they tried against OSU. Open up the entire playbook and let Tyler Buchner rip it.
