We had a quarterback starting for us in 2012 that had no experience before then and we all know what happened that year.

Wasting a whole year of eligibility just for a player to get "experience" at the most important position in football isn't smart

Doubt it. Don't see him mortgaging the season to placate a suspended QB. This was about about Zaire's roadmap, not Golson's.

Don't care about Kelly playing Malik or not. We know what we're getting with Rees - a mediocre QB. But watching Gaffney give Farley a fucking piggyback ride has to be the final damn straw. I don't give a shit if Redfield doesn't know the playbook, enough is enough. Farley did nothing out there that Redfield couldn't do.

He isn't a joke. He did the most he could for this team. Was he a fucking joke last year when he won those games? It's not his fault Golson got suspended and there was nobody better than him on the roster.

Look Tommy frustrates the hell out of me as he does all ND fans, but wanting BK to play Zaire as a true freshman just so he can get experience is dumb. Tommy has his obvious faults but look at his record and career TDs.... If Zaire was our starter we would have went 3-9 and everyone would be calling for BK's head.

Wasn't just not coming back (although I heard he had to reapply for admission which to me means he's not 100% guaranteed...although I think he will be back). I also addressed very real concerns like injury, sick etc. Who steps in then?

Pretty impressive performance against a very quality opponent. Undermanned defense battled and got some stops. Only truly disappointing player was Farley. Got to think Shumate or Hardy could've helped.

Offense was OK against an elite defense. Fuller had his man toasted for a TD with a better throw. But what are you going to do? Tommy is who we've got this season. OL was patchwork missing a bunch of players and still played very well against a violent front 7.

Covered the spread by 10 points. We were supposed to lose that game big and instead had a chance to win but failed to execute. Oh well.

I've been as critical as Kelly as anyone on here, and maybe more so. There are plenty of guys here that will attest to that.

I'm DAMN proud of our effort tonight. Did it end the way we wanted, no. Would EG have made it better, perhaps...but NEWSFLASH...EG didn't play tonight. With our MASH unit of injuries, suspensions, etc., we just played the #8 team to a touchdown on the road.

There are no moral victories in football...but I'm still proud of this team and their effort tonight.

Very frustrating for Kelly to be big on player development and Farley hasn't improved and makes the same old mistakes...I am not at practice but he Must be doing something right in practice to keep playing. Our scheme must be really hard if max can't get in there.

Which, again, is on Kelly. Kelly threw away the season by relying on Rees to be his QB.
